First Club ride of 2011! Sunday May 1st, (29 or 17km)

Hello Fellow Cyclists! Our first official club ride is taking place this coming Sunday, May 1st, 2011. We’re planning a 29.5km route, (with a 17km alternative option), starting and ending in Cobourg. The ride will start in town, head out into the countryside and then return. We’ll encounter one hill at around the 7.5km point (Can’t avoid hills around here!).

A couple of things:
1. Helmets are a must. No helmet, no ride.
2. Please arrive at the start point 15 minutes early to allow time for gearing up.

At this time of year it’s difficult to anticipate weather because we’ll always be wrong if we do. Therefore, please monitor the weather closely and prepare accordingly.

New riders who wish to join the club and have not yet done so, may join on Sunday morning and then ride with us at that time. Please bring a completed application form, signed waiver and applicable payment. For membership information please click here.

Start time: 10:00am
Start location: The park on the south side of Carlisle, just East of Ewing.

Please comment below indicating if you plan to ride, so that we can get an idea how many to expect. See you then!

Yes, planning to join you May 1.

I’ll be there! Hopefully the weather cooperates. I figure that with such a rainy forecast for the week it simply has to clear up by the weekend.

  3. Luke De Sadeleer says:

I’ll be there. Looking forward to it.

  4. terry k says:

If the weather is good, i plan to participate.. Any idea of the approximate timeline for the excursion as i would like to take in Jane Eyre for 4 pm at
    the Northumberland Mall.

Typically we have taken about an hour for every 16-19 km or so. So, I’m guessing that 2 hours max should cover it for the longer distance option.

  5. Paul says:

    I plan to ride

  6. Dan Knight says:

Will be there, weather permitting…will this rain ever end?

  7. MariaG says:

    I plan on being there!

  8. bill says:

i plan to ride weather permitting

  9. James Barnes says:

I will be riding in to meet you at the park.

    • Randy Albon says:

I picked up a camera and will be filming part of the ride also! Still need you as the official photographer however.

  10. anitamacklin says:

I believe that Liam will also be there, and so will Randy! Looks like rain is predicted for evening on Sunday so we should be okay in the morning.

  11. Glen Fitchett says:

I plan on going for the ride. Is there only 1 hill? Maybe more than one, but somewhat flat course!

  12. anitamacklin says:

Hey everyone, Take note that the starting point for today’s ride is from the Park on Carlisle Ave., East of Ewing. It’s NOT from Donegan Park like we have often done before.

  13. Anne Schmidt says:

I’ll be there. Didn’t know we had become a club.
At moment I cannot download…hope somone has waiver?
