Thursday July 26th: Route Suggestions, anyone?

We’ll choose the start time and location….but for this Thursday we’re hoping that the membership will share some ideas and come up with a route. All that’s needed is for someone to say, “I’ve got a route in mind,” let the others know by making a comment, then show up at the designated starting point with directions and voilà! A route is born.

Start time: 9am
Start location: St. Mary’s School parking lot

If you’ve never used the commenting section below, just click on “Comments” and then it should be self-explanatory after that.  🙂

  1. Brian H. says:
The above link is for a Ganaraska Freewheelers route that starts along Danforth Rd., near McEwen. McEwen is approx. 5 km east of St. Mary’s school, so it would add about 10 km to the distances. We could actually do some combination of the Long and the Short route, for a distance of 50 – 55 km. Thoughts?

  2. James M. says:

I’ll be there. Brian’s route looks pretty appealing.

  3. James Barnes says:
Lots of available short cuts too. Centreton to Grafton. Broomfield to Shelter Valley

  4. Paul says:

I plan to ride.We should stop at Randy’s brewery for a sample since it is on this route.

  5. Maria Garrett says:

    Sounds good, see you there!

  6. Marianne says:

    hmmm… climbing Clouston… a definite maybe!

  7. Brian H. says:

The route I posted was simply a suggestion. We can modify it, or some other route, to suit folks’ wishes. In any case, I was thinking that we should return to St. Mary’s along CR2 and up Workman or Brook Rd., rather than doing the hills of Danforth TWICE 🙂

radar says to make 2nd pot of coffee & stay on couch reading !

  9. Maria Garrett says:

Definitely too wet out there for me! I’ll ride another day.

Here I am, all dressed in cycling clothes and watching the downpour through the window! Our timing couldn’t be worse as it looks as though it will clear later. Over to “Plan B” 🙂

  10. Paul Mills says:

Raining in Cobourg. I am not riding.
