Sunday July 13: Joint ride, NHCC, TBN & Ganraska Freewheelers

Today’s NHCC ride is cancelled. Too much precipitation happening out there!

This Sunday is a little different. The TBN (Toronto Bike Network) will be riding in our area and we, along with the Ganaraska Freewheelers will also join them for a route that Brian Hedney developed, the “Shelter Valley Shuffle”. There are three options to choose from and if you want to, you could bring a few bucks and stop for a small lunch break in Grafton. (For this ride, we’ll depart at 10:00 with the others, rather than 9am) By the way, it’s not too crazy hilly, so the shorter 54k distance is very doable for many. There will be lots of folks, riding a lots of different speeds.

Start time: 10am
Start location: Parking lot on Covert St. in Cobourg

People really appreciate and like when you leave a comment letting us know you plan to ride. It’s the best way to see that there are others thinking of doing the same distance and pace you expect to ride!

  1. I plan to be there along with some Freewheelers:) Lets hope the weather cooperates. Looks like a great ride. Thanks Brian for including us!

  2. If you plan to ride the short, 54 km, route on Sunday, a route change will be necessary. Massey Road is finally being repaved, but right now it is loose gravel. We shall go up Morton instead (assuming they haven’t started to tear up Morton yet!). I will have revised maps at the start.
If the forecast is correct, and I hope it is not, there will be very few TBN riders here on Sunday. Cobourg / Port Hope rides are very well supported by the TBN folks if the weather is nice; very few turn up if it is wet.

  3. I shall be at the start at 10:00 AM to hand out maps to anyone brave enough to ride in the rain 🙂
