4th Annual Tour de Northumberland Hills

Sponsored by: George Hussey & Green Canoe Outfitters and 92 King Restaurant

The 4th Annual Tour de Northumberland Hills begins tomorrow! It’s a special event spread out over three weeks and coincides with the Tour de France. This 21-stage ride parallels the distances covered by participants in the Tour de France but on a 1:10 distance ratio. With every stage completed you enter your name on our spreadsheet and for those who complete half of the stages each week will qualify for the weekly prizes or even the grand prize draw. Ride all or just the required minimum of three stages—it’s your choice. Don’t worry about fitness or gear—this is designed for every level of fitness, and the distance is manageable!

Each Tour de Northumberland Hills stage is 10% of the distance the Pro’s will ride on each given day. How simple is that!

Who can participate?
All NHCC members and customers of Green Canoe Outfitters and 92 King

How to Register:

  1. Enter your name on the spreadsheet or
  2. Drop into Green Canoe Outfitters and leave your name or
  3. Email George at Green Canoe Outfitters

Cost: Free! Costs nothing! Nada!

How it works: (It’s simple…and we operate on the honour system, so be honest!)

  1. Check the daily Stage Distance. (see below, or on the spreadsheet)
  2. Ride the required minimum distance either on your own, with others or as part of a Club ride.
  3. Enter your distance on the Spreadsheet each time you complete a stage.

Ride as far as you want—only the minimum distance is required to enter for the draw prize. (one entry per day is permitted). The more you ride the better your chances of winning a prize. Plus, you’ll get fitter and feel better!

Weekly prizes will be awarded as well as a GRAND Prize. (minimum of three stages per week required)

  1. sounds like fun and great motivation to get me out on my bike more than once a week. lol Weekends are out for me…but I should be able to manage 4 or 5 times a week.

  2. Had some issues entering my distances so they stayed using Cogeco…now using my Google account and it seems to be working.

  3. Clearly I’m doing something wrong since I don’t seem to be able to add my distance today!!?? Help please.

    • Not sure what you coould be doing wrong…I’ve had no problems. Are you adding from a computer or a phone?

      • Thanks Tara…Odd that I was able to add the first two and nit the third and I am using the first link.

          • I fixed it all up, so both links work. Also, there’s the yellow graphic image in the right hand column of the website that you can click on to take you directly to the spreadsheet.

  4. I do not know what happened, but somehow it appears to have been wiped out. Could have been an error on anyone’s part. In any case, I’ve restored it to yesterdays version so you may have to re-enter distances done yesterday.
