Cycling safety involves so much more than learning to stop at red lights. The NHCC has partnered with Cycle Transitions to bring the national CanBike examiner to Cobourg for an intensive 3-day 2-evening course to train and certify six candidates. The course is running all weekend long at Cycle Transitions as prospective instructors learn the theory, methods and techniques for delivering CanBike safety courses to adults and also children. Successful candidates will bring their newly acquired knowledge and skills to the rides they coordinate and lead within the NHCC.
CanBike is a nationally recognized Cycling Canada series of training programs designed to develop cyclists ability to maneuver effectively and safely through traffic, avoid potential hazards, be predictable in their actions on the road and to share the road effectively with all users.
