New Years Day Bike, Hike & Potluck: January 1, 2018

It’s just a month away from 2018, and what better way than to start it off on New Years Day with a Bike, Hike & Potluck? We know you’ll all be recovering from your indulgences the night before so we won’t start till 2:00pm.

We’ll meet at Randy & Anita’s home then head out. Some may bundle up and bike (fat bikes anyone?), others may hike. In any case, we’ll return around 4:00 and share in a Potluck dinner. If you just can’t manage the physical exertion portion cuz you are recovering from New Year’s eve, you are also welcome to participate in the Potluck only. All NHCC members are welcome, just let us know you are coming so we can plan accordingly!

Date: January 1, 2018
What to bring: A yummy shareable dish, your own utensils and favourite drink
Time for hike/bike: 2:00pm
Potluck time: 4:00pm
RSVP: Please email Anita for the address so we don’t have to publish it to the whole world! If you know the address, just leave a comment to let us know you’re coming!

Depending on consumption levels on the 31st… Steve and i will be joining the party….or recovering in bed.

  8. Anita Macklin says:

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 1st!

  9. Tara Wilson says:

I’ll be bringing a vegetable lasagna soup, so be sure to bring a spoon. Do we also bring plates/bowls? I’m not sure Steve is up to a 2 hr hike. Any chance he could chill at the house?

    • Anita Macklin says:

Absolutely, he can chill at the house. Undoubtedly there will be others who don’t want any to hike for two hours too. There may even be some that want to hike for one hour! Bring along your favourite drink and you’ll be all set. Do you have my address?

  10. Anita Macklin says:

We have two route options for people to choose from:

    4.5km (approx 1 hour)
    10km (approx 2 hours)

It’s all on the road so you don’t need to prepare for any deep snow. Just dress warm in layers and you’ll be all set. We’ll leave at 2:00 sharp so that we can be back by 4:00. It’ll take a full 2 hours for the 10km option.

  11. Anita Macklin says:

And by the way….it doesn’t sound as though anyone is considering a “bike” option, rather choosing the “hike” option instead….which is probably smart thinking!
