There are so many things to do we’re doubling up on outdoor activites this weekend!

Tree Identification Walk (Saturday January 20): The Willow Beach Field Naturalists Society is offering a tree identification walk with Bill Newell Saturday morning at Woodland Road. Although not a club activity, if anyone is interested the public is welcome to attend.
Start time: 10:00am
Event organizer: Willow Beach Field Naturalists Society
Start location: Northumberland Forest Woodland Parking lot

NHCC Snowshoe Hike (Sunday January 21): On Sunday morning, Deb will lead our first NHCC snow shoe hike at Woodland. Thanks Deb!
Start time: 10:30am
Hike Leader: Deb Parks
Distance: to be determined by the group, 3 to 7km options available
Start location: Northumberland Forest Woodland Parking lot

NHCC Cross Country Skiing (Saturday Jan 20, & Sunday Jan. 21): There will be cross country skiing at Beagle Club both days as well. Anita has once again offered to guide a Level 1 ski for those just getting back to skiing or starting out for the first time. If you want to take it all in, bring your gear for both activites, a lunch to eat in between and take that short drive to the other parking lot! Make sure you bring fluids to keep hydrated.
Start time: 12:30pm (both days)
Ski Leaders: Maria Siemiaszko and Anita Macklin
Start location: Northumberland Forest, Beagle Club parking lot

Wild Rock was going to offer a demo day for cross country skis tomorrow at Kawartha Nordic but it has been postponed due to lack of snow. Yes folks, we seem to have all the snow locally and are the place to play outside! We’ll try to let you know when they reschedule in case anyone is in the market for skis but is not sure which are best for them.
