Sunday, June 3rd – NHCC “David Pollack” Memorial Ride (33km or 100km)

This Sunday we honour a past NHCC club member David Pollack who passed away in March of this year.

A bench is being placed along the Millennium Lilac Trail in Warkworth in David’s memory. As David contributed greatly to our club along with countless local events and organizations, we are asking Sunday’s participants to make a voluntary donation.

The route: Both distances will take us all the way to beautiful Warkworth. This will allow us to see approximately where the bench will be placed as well as stop for coffee at Our Lucky Stars in Warkworth. We will also make a stop at the Cheeky Bee Candle Company in Warkworth where the donations are being accepted.

Start time: 9:00am (100km riders)
Start location: Donegan Park, 25 D’Arcy St, Cobourg.
Route maps: 100km Route Link on Ride with GPS33km Route Link on Ride with GPS

To shorten the route to 33k please meet at Northumberland Hills Public School in Castleton, 2246 Spring St, Castleton, ON at 10:30 am

Guest riders are welcome. Please leave a comment letting others know approximately what level of difficulty you wish to ride at (Levels 1 – 4). That way, others can plan to ride with you! Printed route maps will be available.

  1. I plan to ride but will be leaving from home so will ride the route backwards until I meet up with the group.

  2. I will be happy and honoured to ride in David’s memory. I love the idea of a bench placed along Millenium Lilac Trail in Warkworth. I’m in for the 100k

  3. Unfortunately, I can’t participate in even the shorter route, but I’d really like to meet up with members when you come through Warkworth (if that’s appropriate) to show my appreciation.

    • That’s absolutely appropriate Liz and we’d love to see you. I’m guessing we’ll be at Lucky Stars by 11:30 but I can text you along the way when we know better

  4. I’m in for the 100K
There have been many times since David has passed that I have reflected on how much he did for this club. This ride is a great tribute to a great man. I’m riding in memory of David.

  5. David was a good friend who helped me out personally in several ways. He was a vital part of the club and board for many years. I’m riding the 100k today rain or shine.
