Wednesday, February 20th: Afternoon Ski

Right now it looks like the freezing rain will start later in the evening so that’ll give us the chance to get a ski in beforehand. In case conditions change, let me know if you plan to ski so that I can let you know if it’s cancelled, or be sure to check this post before you leave home.

Start Time: 2:45
Meeting Location: parking lot at Beagle Club
Ski Organizer: Maria Siemiaszko

Monday, February 18th: Afternoon Ski

With some fresh new snow expected overnight and in the morning, the skiing should be great! Bring fluids and a snack for an afternoon skiing fun!
Date: Monday, February 17th
Start Time: 1:00
Meeting Location: parking lot at Beagle Club
Ski Organizer: Maria Siemiaszko

An extra note: someone skied on the blue trail while it was slushy on Friday. This has now frozen into a rutted mess which is almost worse that the damage walkers inflict. Please stay off the ski trails when they are slushy!

Sunday, February 17th: Morning Hike, Afternoon Ski

We’re offering the opportunity to hike or ski on Sunday. Pam and Heather will lead a hike in the Canton area in the morning, and for those who wish to ski, Maria will lead a ski in the Northumberland Forest.
Whichever activity you decide to participate in, please be mindful that there are icy conditions out there so icers and poles are helpful for during the hike. There are also some icy areas in the forest.

Date: Sunday, February, 17th
Start Time: 10:30
Meeting Location: Pam’s house, or if you don’t know where that is, she will meet up with you on Massey Road, just off of County Road 10 which is 2 1/2 km north of Welcome (north of Port Hope)
Distance: 8 to 10km
Hike Leaders: Heather Read and Pam Tate
Looking forward to some fresh air and sun shine!

Please leave a comment so that Pam and HeatherĀ  know that you are coming and can make sure to meet you at one location or the other.

Cross Country Ski:
Date: Sunday, February 17th
Start Time: 1:00
Meeting Location: parking Club at Beagle Club
Ski Organizer: Maria Siemiaszko
We can decide upon route and distance once we meet, and offer shorter options if desired by looping back to the parking lot.

Sunday, February 10th: Afternoon Hike

Since skiing is on hold for now, we’ll head out for a hike instead. Conditions are bound to be icy so I’d say icers are a must and poles will likely be good to have. If you don’t have icers but have snowshoes with the metal crampons on the bottom, they may do. We can decide upon a route and distance depending on what everyone wants.
Date: Sunday, February 10th
Start Time: 1:00
Meeting Location: Woodland parking lot at Northumberland Forest
Hike Leader: Maria Siemiaszko

Tuesday, February 5th:. Morning Hike

We’ll meet 9:30 behind Craft Food House in the parking lot, walk the neighbourhoods east and most north of King Street, to return for coffee at Craft. Distance about 7km.
Date: Tuesday, February 5th
Start Time: 9:30
Meeting Location: parking lot behind Craft Food House
Hike Leader: Rick Nonnekes
Distance: approximately 7km

Friday, February 1st: Afternoon Ski

The trails are in excellent shape and it’ll be a couple of degrees warmer Friday so we’ll get out for another ski.
I won’t be skiing this weekend so if anyone else would like to organize a cross country ski (or snowshoe), send me all pertinent details and I can post it for you.
Date: Friday, February 1st
Start Time: 1:00
Meeting Location: parking lot at Beagle Club
Ski Organizer: Maria Siemiaszko

Thursday, January 31st: Afternoon Ski

The conditions are very good and although the temperatures are cold it is possible to have a great ski and stay warm (or even too hot if you overdress…). We’re going to make the most of the snow while we have it! Again, we can decide what we want to do when we meet.
Date: Thursday, January 31st
Start Time: 1:00
Meeting Location: parking lot at Beagle Club
Ski Organizer: Maria Siemiaszko
