NHCC Ride Standards
The following are standards that can be expected on a ride. From time to time the NHCC Ride Committee reviews and revises them accordingly in order to maintain an incrementally reasonable increase in difficulty between levels.
Interpreting Speed Parameters: Although speeds are defined in km/hour, your level of exertion experienced is more important. For example: 16-20km refers to the amount of exertion you would feel by riding at 16-20km per hour over flat ground, not the average speed over the entire length of the ride. Riding uphill, or against the wind would result in significantly slower speeds in order to maintain that equivalent effort and downhills would be significantly faster.
