Wednesday, January 4th: HIKE! from Northumberland Forest 10am

Off-season is here! With the rain, snow and ice preventing some from getting out for a bike ride, we’ve got a Hike on the schedule for Wednesday morning, which will be led by Maaike Berg-Nonnekes, a certified hike instructor/leader, so we’re in good hands. We plan to hike the Purple Trail which is about 9 km. There are short sections of the trail that are used by motorized vehicles. Dress for the weather;  layers are a good idea. Bring a snack and water.

Start time: 10:00am
Start location: Parking Lot off Hwy 45 across from Woodland (just north of Beagle Club Rd on the East Side)
Route: Purple Trail route map and directions
Difficulty: Intermediate, some hilly sections

A note about off-season activities
Off-season activities are open to anyone, and you do not need to be a club member in order to participate. Activities are posted on the Northumberland Hills Cycling Club’s website as a courtesy, and as a way to offer alternatives to cycling during the winter months. They are not OCA sanctioned events. You participate at your own risk and the NHCC is not responsible for any injury that you might incur.

If you think you might be coming, please mention it below so that we can get an idea how many to expect.

  1. It’s so darn cold that I will have to force myself out the door but if Anita, who hates cold as much as I do, can do it, so can I. Hope to see you there if I can find the parking lot (?)
