Thursday May 16: Ride from Carlisle Park 10am

NHCC Level 3NHCC Level 4Finally we’re getting some better weather. This ride is going along the Waterfront Trail westbound and back again, enabling everyone to determine their own distance. These type of rides allow for those who are maybe just digging out the bike for the first time this season, and also for those who have been putting in a lot of mileage too.

If you’re going to do the 100k Century this Sunday, this is an opportunity to do a good long ride in preparation. Or, just come out for an hour. It’s up to you.

Start time: 10am
Start location: The park on Carlisle St. between Ewing and Westwood
Route: Waterfront Trail westbound (no route map necessary)
Skill Level: Levels 3 and 4
Ride Leader: Anita Macklin

We will naturally break off into different speeds, so the group may not stay together the entire time. We do encourage everyone to pair up with other riders who might be interested in similar speed and distance as the ride gets underway so that nobody rides alone.

  1. I would like to ride tomorrow but I’m looking for someone who is a “slower pace” rider to pair up with. If so, please leave a comment. Thanks

    • I’m hoping to do my first ride(since last Sept) of the season tomorrow. Usually a 25-30km/hr rider but unlikely able to keep that up as my fitness level has dropped right off. Probably in the 20-24km/hr. Does that suit you?

      • That will probably work well … but the hills will be a challenge for me at that pace! See you tomorrow. Sue

  2. I got an early jump on my “chores” this morning so it looks like I will be able to ride. I have a meeting in Brighton at 2 pm so I will do no more than an hour out and an hour back.

    See you at the park.
