Sadly, we lost a member of the NHCC earlier this week. Mike Sonosky passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday, June 2nd. He and his wife Sharon Anderson were members of the NHCC for the past several years. Mike was also an avid sailor.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg. A celebration of Mike’s life will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2 p.m. in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre. Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.

Level 2 Rides: Tues June 4 & Thurs June 6
Tues June 4, Level 2 Ride: Cobourg Cornish Hollow
We will make steady climbing up into the most beautiful tree lined farm lanes just north of Cobourg and feel the wind in our hair as we whisk down Division St North. The weather forecast calls for cold in the single digits with the wind chill so wool under windproof material is highly recommended. FYI, I will be wearing a wool vest & socks, a buff and ear-grips, leather gloves and wind break jacket and pants. We will meet at the Mill so people may have a chance to socialize/warm up after the ride. Please chime in using the comment section if you plan to ride.
Start Time: 6:30
Ride Leader: Geoffrey Honey
Start Location: The Mill Parking Lot, NE corner of Elgin and Ontario Cobourg.

Days are getting longer! We have about 2 hours and 20 minutes of daylight for evening rides this week so we will try to extend the distance a little. We are riding from Port Hope on Monday night. On Thursday night we will start with the Level 4 group and separate into two groups (Level 3 and 4) as the ride progresses.
What to expect on Level 3: This is a group ride. In the spirit of a group ride, all participants are expected to stay together without dropping any rider off the back, nor should any individual move ahead of the ride leader who will select and set a pace that fits within the Level 3 parameters.

Friday Floater Ride: May 31
This week Raff and Carson are leading the Friday Floater Ride, leaving from Cobourg and heading up to Bewdley and back for about 59km on some familiar roads. Bring a few $ with you in case the group happens to stop in Bewdley for goodies of some sort (highly likely). If you are planning to participate, it really helps out the ride leader if they know there are people are coming, so leave a comment to let Raff & Carson know.
This ride will maintain an early season Level 3 pace and nobody will be dropped. Road bikes are strongly recommended.
Start time: 10:00am
Ride Leaders: Raff & Carson

Start location: Cobourg Memorial Arena on Furnace St.
