The skiing conditions are great and we are supposed to get some more snow over the weekend. In case the weather and roads take a turn for the worse, please check the post in case of any changes if you plan to come out.

We will meet in front of Victoria Hall in Cobourg and then do a semi-urban hike of 7 to 9 kms. After the hike, if there is interest, we will go for electrolyte replenishment. These hikes are free to non-members. We just need a signed off-seaon waiver (see right side of NHCC homepage).

Let’s meet behind the Dutch Oven at 9:30am. We will walk the board walk and up through the middle of town to Tim Hortons on William. We will cross over and trek through the green belt coming out the back of the YMCA. We will return along Ontario Street and do a social either at Craft or Dutch Oven.

An extra note: someone skied on the blue trail while it was slushy on Friday. This has now frozen into a rutted mess which is almost worse that the damage walkers inflict. Please stay off the ski trails when they are slushy!
We’re offering the opportunity to hike or ski on Sunday. Pam and Heather will lead a hike in the Canton area in the morning, and for those who wish to ski, Maria will lead a ski in the Northumberland Forest.
Whichever activity you decide to participate in, please be mindful that there are icy conditions out there so icers and poles are helpful for during the hike. There are also some icy areas in the forest.
