Thursday Night Hike: November 29th

We will meet in the parking lot at the Port Hope Town Hall at 6:00 and then do a semi-urban hike of 5 to 8 kms. Last week we had 9 people and 1 dog out for the hike and by popular demand we ended up at Nookie’s Soul Kitchen for chicken wings. These hikes are free to non members. We just need a signed off-season waiver (see right side of NHCC home page).

Tuesday Morning Hike: November 27th

We’ll walk the streets heading towards the east end of town. After working our way back we will meet to socialize at Craft.

Skiing in the forest today! Starting out easy!

Short notice, but we are going to meet at Beagle Club and go out for a ski today, Wednesday, November 21. Nothing too crazy, sticking to the easy routes. It’s a perfect opportunity to get a feel for those skis if you need a little practice.

Tuesday Morning Hike-Explore: November 20

Last week we began exploring the far western end of town, and this week we will continue along some of the paths beyond Pebble Beach. Wear boots, we may go off-road a bit, aiming for about 7km. Then of course, there’s the optional (but you wouldn’t want to miss it) opportunity to head out for a coffee & bite to eat afterward.

Sunday, November 18th: cross country ski

If you want to come see what the ski conditions are like, meet at the Beagle Club parking lot this afternoon for our first NHCC ski of the season. The earliest yet!

Tuesday Morning Hike/walk/explore: November 13, 9:30am

Forecast for Tuesday: 3°C and possible precipitation. Bundle up and we’ll be just fine! Meet at 9:30am in the parking lot behind the Dutch Oven and we’ll head west along the Boardwalk, and down Pebble Beach & beyond. Anticipating about 6-7km. Bring a few $$ if you want to go into the Dutch Oven for a coffee and some goodies afterward.

Last week we found the “Record Collection”, had lots of laughs and ended up at Nookie’s Soul Kitchen after the hike. These hikes are free to non-members. We just need a signed off-season waiver!

Sunday, November 11th: Afternoon Hike

Rick and Maaike have offered to lead a hike on Sunday. It will follow the Oak Ridges trail with a return loop along Dunbar Road. We will begin and end at the Morris Road parking lot on Hwy 45. The hike will be about 8 or 9 kms and take between 2 and 2.5 hours. It has some challenging climbs.
