Level 2 Rides: Tues July 30 and Thurs Aug 1

Tues July 30, Level 2 Ride: Donegan Cobourg

Just a reminder that Level 2’s Tuesday’s rides are a “Steady” Ride (that is, lower end of the average speed and distance, more moderate hills with more frequent stops).

After meeting up at Cobourg’s Donegan Park parking lot, Petra is taking us out east along Lakeshore Drive  and up to Hwy 2 along the Waterfront Trail to Archer’s Rd and south to the second railway bridge and depending on people’s stamina and weather conditions, further east along the Waterfront Trail, then coming back the way we came. Remember lights for safety if you have them!

Please chime in using the ‘Comment’ button if you can make it so Petra and others know you are coming! Remember water and helmets too.

Start Time: 6:30

Ride Leader: Petra Hartwig

Start Location: Donegan Park parking lot, D’Arcy St Cobourg

Thurs Aug 1, Level 2 Ride:King’s Field Pt Hope

Pam is taking on a spectacular ride that starts as we have before but has a great new twist ending. Here is her description: “We will head west on Lakeshore Rd as we have done before but this time we will turn north and climb up the hill on Willow Beach Rd and ride all the way up to the 4th Line. From there, we’ll head east again and eventually turn south down Sylvan Glen Rd back to our starting place. This will be the most challenging ride we’ve done so far this year but if you think you are up to it (and I know you are!), come on out for some fun riding through gorgeous countryside.”

Start Time: 6:30

Ride Leader: Pam Tate

Start Location: King’s Field parking lot Pt Hope (South-West Corner of Ridout St and Victoria St.)

  1. Hi All, I am a bit concerned about the ride on Tuesday evening. The Cobourg Cycling Club have their 15Km time trial on the very roads for this ride. We start at about 6.30 pm leaving from Norma road and finish on Archers road after riding to Station road, Grafton. I had supplied a schedule to the NHCC leaving several Tuesdays free. Last Tuesday the 23rd was the day we moved to Shelter valley. This information was communicated through Geoffrey. I’m guessing someone forgot or didn’t know.

    Thanks

  2. Hey Dave. Yes the Time Trial info was communicated and that is why we are starting the ride at Donegan and proceeding out along Lakeshore and the industrial park in Cobourg. This should give ample time for your very swift riders to be long gone before we even get to Normar. In Fun Fitness and Friendship. Geoffrey Honey Level 2 Ride Co-ordinator. NHCC

  3. Hi Geoffrey and Petra. We are usually finished on Archers road by 7.30 and we now congregate at the Grafton Legion car park on Highway 2 afterwards.

    Thanks

  4. Hi Petra I received an email just now from Frank Ipsen, He plans to be at Donegan Park this evening to ride as a guest
