Monday May 1: NEW for 2017! Level 2/3 ride

There has been considerable interest in riding on Mondays at a little faster pace, so thanks to Roberto (who will coordinate the Level 2/3 Monday Night rides), it’s a go and we’re riding!

So here’s the deal: Helmets are mandatory, and be prepared for cooler evening temperatures (wear layers). We leave at 6:30 sharp, so plan to arrive a little earlyish. And, bring your membership cards please. Non-members are welcome to ride as but need to bring a signed Guest Waiver and $5 (insurance reasons, you know!)

Date: Monday, May 1st
Start Time: 6:30 sharp
Ride Leader: Roberto Almeida
Meeting Location: Industrial Park on Wilmott St.

  1. Tara it should work out to 25-30 km and 1.5 hours at the most.

    The planned route is Hwy 2>Brookside>Danforth>Hoskins>Scotts Line>STOP>Hoskins>Gully>Hwy 2>Grafton>Station>Lakeshore >Archers>Hwy2>Cobourg.

A bit of climbing at the start then downhill into Grafton and flat on the way back.

Should be a nice start to the level 2/3 season.

  2. I am very interested in doing a level 2/3 this year. I understand this is a trial for the month of may. However I have not ridden yet this spring and am concerned this first route might be a little long for my weak wintery muscles. Just wondering what the pace of this first ride will be like?

    • We will look after you Deena. 😊 We will be sticking to the avg speeds for each level (L2: 16-19 kph, L3:19-22 kph) and taking frequent breaks.

The hardest part are the hills on Hoskins which can be skipped as we will be turning around where Hoskins meets Scott Line.

After that it’s all downhill and flat.

Let’s just hope the weather cooperates. It’s looking dicey.
