Open Call for Ride Leaders for 2017

Here ya go, your opportunity to make a difference! The strength and variety of our NHCC ride schedule is 100% reliant on volunteers. We are looking to for ride leaders for the 2017 cycling season. More ride leaders means more variety and more rides for everyone. What we really want to establish is a pool of ride leaders for each of the given levels that we can call upon to make sure that all the rides are covered.

You don’t need to be a super-fit cycling phenom. What makes you qualified? Heck, just a willingness to help out a little, and have a little safety training behind you (kinda essential, and which we’ll provide). Even if you can lead just an occasional ride here and there, we’d be thrilled. The proposed ride schedule for 2017 is as follows:

Monday evenings: Level 1
Tuesday evenings: Level 2
Wednesday evenings: Level 3
Thursday evenings: Level 4
Sunday mornings: Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4
Weekday and other rides: scheduled based on ride leader availability. Just let us know what you want!

You don’t need to be all skilled and confident yet—we’ll get you there! It’s not a big deal to be a ride leader: you just think about a route in advance then lead the way!

So, how about it? There’s no obligation at this point, we’re just seeking an expression of interest on your part!

  1. I am interested in becoming a ride leader for 2017. I should be able to some Wednesday evenings, some Thursday mornings, and the occasional Sunday.

  2. I’d be happy to lead level 2, 2+ and 3 as needed. Happy to do some Sunday’s too. Can’t wait! Can’t wait!

  3. Count me in as in previous years. Levels 2 and 3. Interested in gauging support for an additional level 2/3 ride on Monday evenings which I’d be happy to lead on a regular/ad hoc basis.

  4. Thank you, all wonderful people! I’ll be getting in touch with everyone shortly to establish the next steps. Cycling season, here we come!
