Don’t forget to attend the NHCC Annual General Members meeting at the HTM Insurance Building in Cobourg tomorrow evening – Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 p.m. It’s free and we promise it won’t take long! So come on out and support your cycling club. Get a sneak peak at a new jersey design in the works for 2020 and get your membership for next year at the lowest price available. Only $35.00!
We will also have a limited supply of in-stock jerseys available for purchase (old design only). If you have been wanting a long-sleeved jersey for the colder weather this is time to get one! There will also be nibbles and it’s FREE to attend – did I mention that already? – FREE!
See you there!
I shall be there.
I think it’s time for a rant! As I have already indicated, I am unable to attend the AGM. From the looks of it, there will be only one person in attendance but I suspect there may be others.
By indicating that you will or will not attend a meeting, ride, or whatever, you are supporting the Club and indicating an APPRECIATION of the work that the people, who VOLUNTEER their time, do for you. How much time does it take to do that? If unsure, then say so but at least have the curtesy of acknowledging those who do the posting, route planning and leading. Believe it or not, it’s a lot of work to organize events and a lot harder if they have no idea as to how many will show up for any given event. If it were up to me, I would simply say that if you don’t indicate your intentions then you don’t ride. If you aren’t able to ride after indicating that you will, that’s fine. At least you have acknowledge!!!
I also get pissed off with people who don’t vote, who in my opinion should be fined and if necessary be assigned to collecting dead election signs or something equally meaningless.
By the way, if you’ve never been at the end of volunteering for any organization, it’s time you did! Apparently there are well over a hundred members of NHCC. Who would have guessed.
Perhaps this ‘rant’ will get a discussion going between Bill and Debbie!? I do regret that I am unable to be there for that.
By the way, I’m in London so you can’t hurt me!
