Sunday June 11: Another Waterfront ride option, Eastbound!

It’s going to be a great day for cycling! Roberto is leading another Waterfront Trail option for those wishing to go Eastbound from Cobourg. This will be an All Levels ride. Any club member can participate, choosing your own pace. The route goes “out-and-back” which means that you turn around at any point making it a distance that you are comfortable with. The group start together and break up into smaller ones based on speed and distance. Some may even choose to do 100k by going all the way into Presqu’ile Park to the lighthouse if they are allowing bicycles in (the park is closed for camping at the moment due to water levels).

Please note that weekend rides don’t have individual ride leaders and sweeps assigned for each of the levels. It’s a multi-level group ride and participants will naturally break into smaller groups, so plan to pair up with riders of similar ability.

It’s helpful if you are planning to ride to leave a comment indicating your preference regarding Level of difficulty you want to do (Level 1, 2, 3 or 4), and your planned distance or time. It lets others also plan in advance!

Start time: 9:30am
Start location: The arena on Furnace St.
Ride Coordinator: Roberto
Route: Waterfront Trail Eastbound (Printable Map) or Link to it on Ride with GPS.

  1. I’ll be there!
Maybe instead of the park we can turn left and cycle to get yummy date squares and coffee before heading back šŸ™‚

  2. Randy and I are in. Looks windy out there at the mall meant.
We have somewhere to go this afternoon so are not sure how far we will go.

  3. We did our time calculations and since we need to be in Toronto this afternoon I’m thinking we better skip the ride. Sorry. 😬

  4. Great ride everyone. 12 riders started with the majority doing Colborne Tim Hortons and back (58 kms) with a smaller group going to Wicklow beach and turning around.

A little windy but still great riding conditions. Thanks to everyone who came out.
