This Sunday is the first Century Ride of the season. You can however, make it a 50k by turning around in Colborne and returning to Cobourg. For 100k, we ride to the lighthouse at Presqu’ile Park then return home. Take a lunch-break at a restaurant in Brighton, or stay on the move by bringing some sustenance with you (aka portable snack foods) and lots of water.
Century Rides are not about speed, it’s about going the distance. How long does it actually take to ride 100km? If you don’t stop for lunch, between 4 and 5.5 hours. Level 3 travels together, likely at a slower pace, and level 4’s may break off into groups according to ability.
Time: 9:00am
Start Location: The parking lot behind the Dutch Oven
Skill level: Levels 3 and 4
Route map: Waterfront Trail (signed route—no route map necessary)
Leave a comment to let others know your plans regarding distance and lunch.
I will be camping in Grafton, can I meet you and ride along?
I will be participating in the Level 3. Looking forward to it.
I plan on doing 100k level 3. Open to stopping for lunch. See you all there. Should be a great ride.
I plan to be there, level 3 with a stop for lunch.
I hope to ride out and back at a level 3 pace…no lunch stop as I couldn’t get back on my bike if I stopped for too long.
Weather isn’t looking too promising…
So I’m debating going to El Camino for supper and then “Still Allis” at the Loft this evening. When might the decision for tomorrow’s “Century Ride” be decided?? In my old age I have become a “fair weather” rider.
A friend of mine would like to join as a guest for the 50k ride to Colborne and back. Is anyone doing the 50k ride?
ok so we came home from the trailer today due to rain, if however it doesn’t ran tomorrow i am in for a 100k (with lunch if I have company)
rain…if it doesn’t rain….I ran today. lol
