Sunday, May 31st: Levels 3 and 4 ride

Update: Ride cancelled due to weather

As per our usual custom, Sunday’s ride will be a repeat of Thursday’s.  The ride leaves Donegan Park, and once we’re reached Orchard Road and County Road 25 just north of Colborne, the 54km riders turn south and head back to Cobourg while the 80km riders keep going to Brighton.

For those with the time and inclination to grab a bite to eat, there’s a Tim Hortons at the turn in Colborne, or Lola’s Coffee House in Brighton for those going the distance.  For those who’d like to make a stop, let the others know so people can find who they might ride with.

Date: Sunday, May 31st
Time: 10:00
Start location: Donegan Park, D’arcy Street, Cobourg
Maps: Printable 54 or 80km map here or view it on Ride with GPS
Ride Coordinator: Anita Macklin

  1. I’m planning on riding Sunday. 50k most likely but might try 80 if I’m feeling good- lunch at Lola’s might entice me to go full distance also.

  2. If you want to avoid the nasty hill on Little Lake Rd, here’s a good detour: from Little Lake Rd turn left onto Herley Rd, right onto Honey Rd, right onto Crandall Rd, right onto Lake Rd and then left onto Little Lake Rd again. The remaining hills on Little Lake Rd aren’t as bad. The pavement is pretty rough as you get closer to county Rd 30.
My place is on Little Lake Rd so I use this detour all the time

    • Or you can just do “the hill”. ;). It’s been described as shorter and steeper than Bickle Hill for those who would like to take the challenge. 🙂

  3. I was planning to do this ride but the weather doesn’t look promising so I think I’ll just sleep-in…unless someone can promise something better than The Weather Network.

  4. Holy cow, did you hear all that wind last night! Can’t really say I’m heartbroken about not riding today.

  5. Good call Anita. I rode to Donegan and it was pretty cold and windy. Going to settle in and watch last stage of the Giro. Go Ryder!
