Sunday Ride: May 26th

The weather on Sunday looks promising and let’s do the Waterfront Trail! There are two starting locations and times depending on how far you want to ride. If you would like to ride a little longer meet up in Cobourg at Westwood Park on Carlisle (between Ewing & Westwood) and follow the Waterfront Trail into Port Hope.  For those wishing to skip the hills out of downtown Port Hope and make it a shorter ride meet at King’s Field in Port Hope.  We will head west along Lakeshore and turn around whenever!  This ride will be suitable for most levels.  Please comment here so that you can buddy up with another rider of your ability. No maps needed for this one as we will be following the Waterfront Trail.  Please bring some cash in case we stop somewhere.  Wesleyville Church location is hosting a Country Market and Nature Fest from 10am to 4pm and I’m quite sure there will be butter tarts!!
Start Time: 10:00 a.m. Westwood Park, Cobourg; 10:30 a.m. King’s Field, Victoria St., Port Hope

IMPORTANT: Please leave a comment so that we can anticipate numbers and also assign ride leaders for the various distances if needed.

  1. At this point I anticipate riding. I’ll determine distance as we get closer. Gonna be sunshine and 24c!

  2. I will be riding and starting in Cobourg. I hope to ride a nice long distance (at least 60K), but I am happy to shorten (25-30K) and/or slow down if we have any level 2’s wanting to come out

  3. I hope to ride from Cobourg…how far I go will depend on the wind but it should be a fun return at least.

    • Also, I doubt I could make it to King’s Field in 20 minutes from Cobourg so I’ll ride out on my own…don’t wait for me.

      • Don’t worry Klaus, 10:20 start time so that people are there and ready and waiting for the Cobourg group to come through.

  4. Depending on how things go, I might ride down to King’s Field, ride out to Wesleyville with you and then loop back up to my place. Supposed to be a beautiful day on Sunday so fingers crossed!

    • Don’t worry mike and Freda. I posted 10:20 start time so that the PH group are ready to keep going as the cobourg group comes through.

  5. Morning! My partner and I will be joining in Cobourg. I haven’t managed to get my road bike out yet though, so we will probably split off in Port Hope and return. Hope the notice isn’t too late!

  6. Ivan and I will be starting in PH and riding level 2 with hybrid bikes. We’ll be slowww – but steady. Company is welcome but we are happy to poke along at our own pace on our own so others can get to the butter tarts first:)
