The July 1st Canada Day All Levels Ride & Epic Potluck Event

Just seven days away! There’s no better way to celebrate Canada Day than with good people, open roads, and great food. It’s our annual Canada Day All Levels Ride & Epic Potluck!

Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2026 (Rain Date: Thursday the 2nd)
Times:
Ride starts at 10:00am (Out-and-back format—45 minutes each way)
Potluck begins around 11:45am
Start Location (All Levels 1–4): 8303 Smylie Rd., Cobourg
RSVP: Let us know you’re coming via the Events Calendar in your Ride With GPS account

As usual, we’ll be all wrapped up by 1:00 so you won’t miss out on other Canada Day celebrations you may have.

The All Levels out-and-back Ride: 10am

This is one of the few rides where the entire club, Levels 1 through 4, rides together and finishes together! The format is simple—ride for 45 minutes at whatever pace you wish, then turn around and come back for the Epic Potluck.

The Epic Potluck

After the ride, we gather at Randy and Anita’s for our famous Epic Potluck. In true Canadian fashion, it’s a welcoming, casual, and joyfully unpredictable. Bring along your favourite dish to share—salads, fruits, butter tarts, maple-glazed anything, poutine-inspired snacks, or just your go-to homemade classic. Unpredictability makes it fun—If we end up with more dessert than dinner, well gosh darn, that’s a win too!

Please also bring a lawn chair and your favourite drink so you can sit under the shade of a tree with your NHCC friends and take in the summer vibes.

The really-horrible-weather Plan B: We aim to celebrate on July 1st, but if the forecast looks grim (as it sometimes does), we’ll move the event to Thursday, July 2. Stay tuned to the club calendar for updates.

Family, Friends & Non-Riders Welcome

Not everyone has to ride—friends and family are welcome! There’s plenty of space in the yard for relaxing while others sweat their bums off riding!

All are welcome, even if you are just digging out the bike for your first ride of the season. This event is all about connection—across levels, and across our shared love of Canada.
