The temperature should be pretty nice for November so if you want to move your legs, get some fresh air, and enjoy the outdoor scenery, come for a hike in the Northumberland Forest. In case the bears are still around we should make enough noise to keep them away! We’ll amble along for a couple of hours or so and can decide where we want to go as a group once we meet. Bring some fluids and a snack.

It’s going to be a great time for a hike and Halloween celebration. Weather is looking good….17C and likely rain-free! Just a reminder about tonight’s Halloween Hike & Potluck. Bring a spooky friend, a yummy dish for sharing, wear your most hallow-ish costume and have fun! By the way, if you are looking to get a ticket for the upcoming Social and AGM on Nov. 9 we’ll have some on-hand so you can pick one up tonight!

It’s been a great season for cycling, hasn’t it? The NHCC is entirely volunteer-driven, and we encourage some feedback to let us know how we are doing. We are committed to always seeking ways to make the NHCC awesome, but we could use your input. Our annual social event of the year, the AGM & Social is a little over two weeks away. There will be a great buffet at the Best Western, and we’ll take the evening to celebrate cycling with the NHCC, discuss new directions for next year, get a great deal on membership for 2017, and purchase a jersey too! We’ll also elect a few new directors and do a little official but necessary biz.

By the way, friends and family are welcome. Tickets must be purchased in advance! Cost: $30

Not much in the way of cycling is happening on our roads lately, but there is a cycling film, Murphy’s Law at The Loft in Cobourg on Sunday evening. It would be great if a number of us were to make it out to the event and maybe even meet for dinner beforehand! Check out the information here.
