On Tuesday June 2, 2015 a very near and dear friend of the NHCC, Jill Dolores Mills, danced her last waltz. Those who have been with the NHCC since it’s inception know Jill as the constant, quiet supporter behind her husband Paul Mills (founding member and tireless supporter). We had hoped that Jill would be around for many more seasons, supporting our Presqu’ile Picnic rides and being there whenever help was needed but apparently the universe has greater plans for Jill.
We extend our condolences to Paul Mills both as a Club and as a friend. Visitation will take place at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, ON, on Saturday, June 6 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home chapel. Please note that bicycle parking will be available, but it’s appreciated if you would leave a comment letting us know you will arrive by bicycle so that adequate parking is arranged.
I was saddened when I read this note. I only met Jill a couple of times on rides but each time I found her to be a fun person who was also very helpful. She will be missed.
Jill will be very much missed. She was sweet and considerate and always nice to talk to. She gave me a book for my bithday, centered around my hometown. We always had something to talk about. Jill showed up for many club functions. I will miss her.

Jill was a kind and gentle soul. Always smiling big. I can hear her Jill-ish giggle right now as a I recall her telling the story of how her and Paul have essentially been together since childhood. I think she might be the only non-member that we ever gave an NHCC award to at our AGM (2013).
If it’s not raining, I might plan to arrive at the visitation by bicycle.
