NHCC Rides for the week of: Mon. August 21, to Sun. August 27

Bike Maintenance 2.0 is happening tonight (Monday August 21). Randy will be conducting this advanced workshop with lots of discussion, demonstration, Q & A and other information to help those who want to protect the investment they’ve made in their higher-end bicycles.

Lights, Lights, Lights: Days are becoming shorter, so please make sure you have your lights charged up—white lights for the front, red for the back.  It’s worth noting that there are two different types of front lights—those that allow you to be seen but also those that allow you to see—meaning, they light up the road ahead. Lights meant to see with are especially nice to have in the event of unforeseen circumstances that keep you on the road longer than anticipated (flat tire, mechanical breakdown, etc.). Reach out to your ride leader for advice on where to pick up lights locally, if needed.

Pre-announcing: On Sunday September 3 we are having a Labour Day Ride & Potluck, so you can plot that on your calendar if you are planning to be around.

Route Maps from the Club Library: Did you know that the Club has an extensive route library that you can use anytime?  Many routes have been grouped into Collections to make route selection easy to fit your needs. As a club member you will get voice navigation on those routes (if you have signed up for a free Ride With GPS Account).  Its a great way to find interesting places to go independently either on your own or with a few friends. If you want or need help accessing them, feel free to give us a shout.
