THE WHEELY FUN CLUB NEWS!

Rides for the week of: Monday May 30th-Sunday June 5th

We are switching things up a little this week. The Thursday ride is taking place out of town (near Trenton) for all levels, going on the Lock & Rock & Roll route.  It’s a beauty route that will take you along totally off-road paths and you’ll see the Bleasdale Boulder and a number of Locks on the Trent-Severn. Also, we’re hoping for some nice weather this weekend because Saturday we are having an All-Levels Ride & Social event (BYOB and a lawn chair), and Sunday is the “Bike for the Planet” event that we are hoping NHCCers will come out and support—It’s free. No fee, no fundraising!

MORE NHCC NEWS!

This ride is cancelled due to inclement weather being forecast.  This route is 17k long and not too terribly challenging. Tuesday May 21: Ride from Port Hope 6:30

Tonight’s ride cancelled due to weather conditions. The Port Hope ride is an opportunity to see a little new scenery. Speed and distance for this ride will vary depending on who shows up, but is typically somewhere between level 2 and 3. If you’re heading over from Cobourg meet in the parking lot of Canadian […]

Monday May 20th: Easy Ride, 7:00pm

The weather forecast says clear for tonight and that’s good enough for us. Meet in the parking lot behind the Dutch Oven. And stash a couple of bucks in your pocket somewhere because sometimes the Monday night ride stops in for ice cream or some other type of yummy if the weather permits and people […]

Correction to the start location for the Century Ride on Sunday: The correct location for the start is the parking lot behind the Dutch Oven.

NHCC goes off-road: Mountain Biking Saturday 2pm

Inter-club Century Ride: Sunday May 19th (9am)

Our first Century Ride of the season happens on Sunday. We leave from Cobourg, travel all the way to Presqu’ile Park and go right down to the lighthouse and then return home. Bring some sustenance with you (aka granola, cliff bars, etc.) and lots of water. We’re not planning a “lunch” break, though if you […]

Thursday May 16: Ride from Carlisle Park 10am

Finally we’re getting some better weather. This ride is going along the Waterfront Trail westbound and back again, enabling everyone to determine their own distance. These type of rides allow for those who are maybe just digging out the bike for the first time this season, and also for those who have been putting in […]

The general consensus seems to be that the Port Hope ride should start a half hour earlier than originally posted, so we’re officially making it start 6:30, departing Cobourg Canadian Tire at 6:05.
