Butter Tarts in Harwood! That’s where we’re going. We’ll start at The Mill and head up toward Harwood where we’ll take a break at the local store. They have awesome butter tarts so be sure to bring a little moolah with you. The estimated long distance will be about 60km. There will also be options for a shorter route if desired. However, if you take the short route you’ll miss the butter tarts!
Start time: 10:00am
Start location: The Mill Restaurant parking lot
Route map and directions: Butter Tart Run Route Map Here
Long Ride Leader: TBD
Short Ride Leader: TBD
Please comment below if you are coming and if you are interested in riding the short or long route. We’ll need volunteers for leading the rides as well. Please indicate if you are willing to lead.
Yum! I’ll be there!
I plan to ride.
Hi Anita – I hope to come on Thursday but doubt that I can do the 60k so I would like to know more about the short route.
Thanks ,
Brenda
Hi Brenda
The shorter route will probably be about 16 or 17km and there will certainly be some hills which can’t be avoided but if you want to give it a try there will be someone to take the short route with you. Usually we have a volunteer to lead the shorter route but if none materializes it will likely be me!
Anita
Sorry I will be out of town so I cant ride,
Make sure you put in some good hills.
Have a good one.
I may ride the short route.and will bring a Freewheeler map of the Short Rice Lake Raminbleie 63k with one adjustment
in Canbourne. Anita if you have a chance you could post this map. This route avoids Williamson hill. The short route is 25 k but the return ride has mostly downhill grades.
All right!!!!!…..butter tarts….hopefully the weather will cooperate. If not I’ll be there on nSunday
I might give it a try and see if my hand can last the whole distance.
Looks like I can join in Rain ,rain go away come again on Saturday (only)
Looks a lot like rain outside……but the Accuweather website shows hour by hour weather and it shows mostly cloudy this morning and thunderstorms at 1:00 and 2:00. Let’s hope for the best!
As much as I was looking forward to the butter tart, I don’t think I want to chance riding in the rain (might melt..)
Good think I was scared off by the weather report-as soon as I decided not to ride, it started pouring sunshine! ;P
