Thursday, November 24th: “Perrytown Pedlar” route, (10am, Port Hope start)

This is one of those wonderful Ganaraska Freewheelers routes that always prove to be well thought out, and take in the best roads. Since we’ve been seeing a lot of Cobourg lately, we’ll try a Port Hope start and see some new scenery. It’s a 42km route with a shorter 24k option. If you want to add some distance, you could start in Cobourg and ride to the start point rather than driving. So far the weather is showing 8° and sunny. Not bad for November!

Start time: 10:00am
Start location: The Town Hall in Port Hope

So, what do you say?

  1. I really want to ride but I have a client coming at 11:30 so…maybe what I can do, since the ride is close to where I live, is ride the last part of the route first, meet up with you at town hall at 10:00 and then ride with you up to the 4th line at which point I will leave you in order to get home in time to work. It means that I won’t be with you for long but at least it will inspire me to get my tush out the door for a ride. It looks like a nice route though; Hopefully I can do the whole thing some time before the snow flies. By the way, I’m pretty sure that Grist Mill Rd, between the 5th and the 7th line is a dirt road so be forewarned. It’s very beautiful though.

  2. I’m still thinking about it if the weather is OK. If I do go, I’ll be riding from Cobourg, then most likely doing the short route as I have a meeting to attend in the afternoon.

  3. It is looking a bit cool for the morning tomorrow so I will check the winds and see if I am going or not. Friday will be a little warmer yet so I may wait.

  4. Unfortunatley, I’ve suddenly some down with a cold, my first in years, and I’ve been blowing my nose like crazy all afternoon. Not sure how that would translate to a bike ride but I can guess! So I’ll go to bed early tonight and see how I feel when I wake up in the morning, then decide whether to ride or not.
