Yep, that’s right, another ride in the evening for those of you who just want to do a shortie ride. As usual, head out 35 minutes and then turn around and come back, ensuring we’re back by around 7:00.

Don’t forget to bring red lights for the back of your bikes.

Monday, October 10th: 100km ride to Presqu’ile Lighthouse and Back

The weather is just to good to resist. For those of you who are in need of working off some of that turkey tomorrow, there’s a few people talking about riding to Presqu’ile and back for a total of 100km. Straight there, straight back, no restaurant breaks—so pack a PBJ sandwich or something in your jersey. There may be a convenience store or two along the way to re-load drinks if necessary.

Start time: 9:00am
Start location: Donegan Park
Route: Follow the Waterfront Trail with a diversion into the park and all the way to the lighthouse.

Ride: Sunday, Oct. 9th (10am) Port Hope Lakeshore and back

This Sunday the weather man says there’s nothing but sunshine and warmth. So, for all of you folks who are not doing Turkey preparations, the club is going to ride over toward Port Hope and down the Lakeshore then back. The distance can be whatever you want…..just turn around and head back when you feel you’ve reached your halfway point.

Local Bike Shop bargains this weekend in Port Hope (Oct. 7-8, 2011)

Looking for a bike? Some cycling wear? Accessories? It’s the time of year when bike shops are trying to clear out stock and free up space. One of our club members, George Hussey’s bicycle shop, Port Hope Bicycle, has informed us that he’s having a big blowout sale at his shop on Friday and Saturday. (If you are interested but can’t make it on those days, email George and he’ll work something out for you)

The Monday ride was great, we rode along Telephone Rd. and then throughout town. Prior to our next ride, we’ll take a few minutes on Wednesday night to decide where to go, so if you have any preferences, feel free to offer up your 3 cents worth.

Toronto International Bike Show, Oct. 15 (One day only)

This is your chance. A once-a-year, seven hour sales blitz. If you know what you are looking for, this would be the event to go to. Do your research before you go, though! It can be pretty crazy there.

Monday, October 3rd: Evening Ride (5:45pm)

We’re starting even earlier. 5:45

That will give us a little over an hour to ride. We’ll head out 35 minutes and then turn around and come back, ensuring we’re back by around 7:00. At the moment the weather predicts 60% chance of showers in the evening but we know the weather man lies. In any case, we also know we’ve got some hard-core riders who apparently will ride even if it’s freezing cold and rainy  🙂
