Monday make-up-for-the-rain Ride: June 13th

Every single ride was rained out last week! However, the forecast shows nothing but sunshine for Monday so we are going to make up for lost rides by enjoying a nice & easy ride for everyone! We’ll all start at the Brighton Boat Launch and head out from there.  Level 1 and 2s will explore at their own pace and distance, while the 3 and 4s will have a 60km route that has options for either lengthening or shortening.  You can find all the details in your Cycle Club account!

Start Location for all Levels:
Parking lot just West of the boat launch, bottom of Ontario St. in Brighton at 162 Harbour St. (see map on website if it doesn’t display below)
Start time: 10am

Rides for the week of: Monday June 6th – Sunday June 12th

We have all the regular rides this week, plus Mountain Biking on Saturday, and on Sunday we are heading out of town for a the re-scheduled ride from a few weeks ago, starting in Peterborough at Beavermede Park.  It’s a glorious route along the Peterborough Rotary Greenway Trail all the way up to Lakefield where you can get a big giant double scooper of ice-cream! Also, on Thursday the Level 3 & 4s are going to stop in and get their cultural groove on as they visit ZimArt (google it!). You can see all the details and also RSVP using your Cycle Club account.

Using the Discussion feature on Cycle Club: We’re all especially conscious of increasing gas prices these days, so if you are interested and able to carpool, there’s a Discussion feature attached to each Event in Cycle Club.  Just post a comment there and see if you can collaborate a little on transportation.

Rides for the week of: Monday May 30th-Sunday June 5th

We are switching things up a little this week. The Thursday ride is taking place out of town (near Trenton) for all levels, going on the Lock & Rock & Roll route.  It’s a beauty route that will take you along totally off-road paths and you’ll see the Bleasdale Boulder and a number of Locks on the Trent-Severn. Also, we’re hoping for some nice weather this weekend because Saturday we are having an All-Levels Ride & Social event (BYOB and a lawn chair), and Sunday is the “Bike for the Planet” event that we are hoping NHCCers will come out and support—It’s free. No fee, no fundraising!

SUNDAY May 29th: Morning Ride, 10am

Rides for the week of: Monday May 23 to Sunday May 30

We have all the regular rides this week, plus this Sunday we are heading out of town for a ride starting in Peterborough at Beavermede Park.  It’s a glorious route along the Peterborough Rotary Greenway Trail all the way up to Lakefield where hopefully it will be much warmer than this past Sunday was. And if so, bring some ice-cream $ for the great ice-cream shop at the end of the trail.  For the mountain bikers in the club, there’s ride posted for this coming Saturday, and Helmut always makes sure it’s fun.  You can see all the details and also RSVP using your Cycle Club account.

Using the Discussion feature on Cycle Club: We’re all pretty conscious of trying to conserve gas these days, so if you are interested and able to carpooling, there’s a Discussion feature attached to each Event in Cycle Club.  Just post a comment there and see what materializes. It’s a great way to communicate with others about any particular ride!
