Sunday July 8th Ride: “Bewdley and Back” (54 km) *Starting 9:00am

Just like Thursday, it’s the “Bewdley and Back” route.

Route Notes: Start at The Memorial Arena instead of The Mill restaurant. The route can be made shorter (about 34km) by turning right at Kennedy Rd. (rather than left) and heading back the way you came.

Start time: 9:00am
Start location: The arena on Furnace St., Cobourg

The “Tour de Northumberland Hills” Stage 8 (15.4 km)!
By the way, Stage 8 of the “Tour de Northumberland Hills” means riding 15.4 km on Sunday. Easy distance to do, so this one’s a no-brainer.

Please indicate if you are planning to ride and if you can be a pack leader.

Thursday July 5th Ride: “Bewdley and Back” (54 km) *Starting 9:00am

**Don’t forget that the new REGULAR start time is 9:00am**

We haven’t done this route in a while so it’s time we do the “Bewdley and Back” route. Given the heat that we’ve been having, we might appreciate that if it’s a hot day we can grab a cold drink at the Bewdley store.

Route Notes: Although the map indicates that we start at The Mill restaurant, we will start at the Arena on Furnace St. instead. If you wish to make the route a little shorter and do just 34km you could turn right at Kennedy Rd. (rather than left) and head back the way you came.

Start time: 9:00am (regular group)
Start location: The arena on Furnace St., Cobourg

The “Tour de Northumberland Hills” Stage 5!
By the way, Stage 5 of the “Tour de Northumberland Hills” means riding 19.7 km. This ride will certainly get those kilometres in.

EASY RIDE: Wednesday July 4, 7:00pm

Getting in some distance now, everyone! We’ll start at Donegan Park and head out towards Wicklow Beach and beyond. Essentially we’ll follow the Waterfront Trail for 50 minutes then turn around and come back. We’ll be back at Donegan by 8:40 with a little bit of daylight leftover. This is a great opportunity to get some mileage in if you’re preparing for the 100k to Presqu’ile coming up in either August or September. Easy, flat riding……no hills, no excuses.  🙂

It’s Stage 4 of the Tour de Northumberland Hills and doing this ride will qualify for the 21.4 km stage.

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Donegan Park
Ride Leader: Volunteer Needed

Anyone want to volunteer to be the Ride Leader?

RIDE in Port Hope! Tuesday July 3 Easy Ride (7:00)

Six people showed up last week for our first ever Port Hope Evening Ride, so let’s see if we can make it happen again this Tuesday. Canada Day weekend will be all over by that time, so it’s back to get back into some normalness. (which means getting out on your bikes)

It’s Stage 3 of the Tour de Northumberland Hills and doing this ride will qualify for the 19.7 km stage.

Start time: 7:00 pm
Start location: Port Hope, Gilmer’s Home Hardware
Ride leader: George Hussey

Being a new ride and all, it’s important to take a moment to comment below whether or not you plan to ride so that George can anticipate numbers.

EASY RIDE: Monday July 2nd, 7:00pm

This easy ride is…..well, not quite as “easy” as some of the others we’ve done. But we’ve got long days right now and they won’t last forever, so we are making the most of it. 32 km with a few small-ish hills. (Okay, maybe one steep one) But the “Easy Riding” crowd seems to be wanting a few more challenges, so we’re doing it! If you take the shorter 24km route you’ll miss out on those little hills……just sayin.

It’s Stage 2 of the Tour de Northumberland Hills and doing this ride will qualify for the 20.7 km stage

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre
Route Map: “Easy Route 2” 24 or 32 km route map here
Ride Leader: Volunteer Needed

Please comment below to say you’re coming to the ride.

**Don’t forget that the new REGULAR start time is 9:00am**

It’s July! That means that our starting time is moving a little earlier in the morning to escape a bit of the summer heat. It will now be 9:00am instead of 10:00 am until September 1st. Soooooo…. don’t be showing up at the start point for 10, wondering where everyone is  🙂

Like Thursday’s ride, if you want to do 75km, you’ll start earlier than everyone else, riding from Cobourg to the start point in Grafton. (That will mean 8:20 for the 75km route.)

Start time: 9:00am (regular group) or 8:20 (75km group)
Start location: Grafton Arena on Hwy 2 (Donegan Park for the 75k group)
Route Map: “Grafton East” route map here

Please indicate if you are planning to ride and where you will start from so others can plan too. Also, please mention if you can be a pack leader.

Thursday June 28 Ride: “Grafton East” (31km 36km 51km or 75km)

There’s a distance for everyone on this ride. If you want to do 75km though, you’ll start earlier than everyone else, riding from Cobourg to the start point in Grafton. The weather promises 28° and sunshine with just a little cloud. Should be a great day for a ride. We’ll need pack leaders for Thursday, so how ’bout it? Let’s try to see some new faces taking on that role  🙂

Start time: 10:00am (regular group) or 9:20 (75km group)
Start location: Grafton Arena on Hwy 2 (Donegan Park for the 75k group)
