EASY RIDE: Monday June 25, 7:00pm

Weather forecast: 20° and windy. So it won’t be hot, but it will be windy. We’ll need a ride leader for this one. Anyone want to take that on? Just make a comment below. And onn another note:

The 100km Presqu’ile Ride Pre-notice. For those who don’t know, sometime in August or September we do a club ride from Cobourg to the lighthouse at Presqu’ile and back. It’s a 100km ride and almost all flat. It’s easy enough riding that it’s doable for all members of the club including new members. It’s a goal to work towards—so there’s an incentive to put in some mileage and try and stretch out the distance on some longer rides.

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre
Route Map: “Route 1” 23km with optional 5km or 7km extensions

EASY RIDE: Wednesday June 27, 7:00pm

The days are good and long at this time of the year, so we should take advantage and do a little extra distance. Come on out! We will go easy on you so don’t worry about the added distance. It will only be about 3-5 km more than usual and we are already doing about 22 km on the evening rides.

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre

Last Call for the NHCC jersey order, 2012

Calling all procrastinators—if you want to get one of those babies this season and haven’t yet ordered one, mention it below and if you’re quick to drop off a payment of $68 tomorrow (or over the weekend), we’ll make sure your order gets put in. Otherwise, you’re looking at next season. You gotta admit we look pretty groovy when a whole bunch of us are going down the road in our club jerseys!

EASY RIDE: Wednesday June 20, 7:00pm

Sooooo…..some people want a little more “speed” on their Easy Ride. All righty then! On Wednesday night we’ll send out two groups like usual — but the first group will go just a little faster. No crazy neck breaking speed, just a little faster than usual. We’ll do a repeat of the Monday route since everyone liked that one, plus there seems to be some shady parts of the route which might be very welcoming on the hot hot evening that’s predicted. If you want, bring a loonie for a popsicle at the Dale Road Store.

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre
Route: Same as Monday
Pack Leader #1:
 Pam Tate
Pack Leader #2: Volunteers, anyone? (directions will be provided)

EASY RIDE: Monday June 18, 7:00pm

The weather is forecasting that it’s going to be hot hot hot this week. But Monday night should be bearable provided the rain holds off. We’ll meet at the new “usual” place and if people are feeling a little hill-ish we’ll go north up to Racetrack Rd area where we can enjoy some nice roads and a few hills.

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre

Ride Leader: Anita Macklin
Route: To be determined

Thursday June14: Ride (37 or 55km) Start time: 10:00am

The last few rides have had some hill climbing, so perhaps we’ll make this one a nice easy flat-ish route. Heading out to Wicklow Beach and beyond then returning. Easy stuff and you can go as far or as short as you want. If you do only what’s on the map, you’ll cover about 37km. It’s easy to extend the route and go all the way into Colborne and back, the benefit being that you can grab a drink at the store. (totalling about 55km) Don’t let that distance scare you—it’s easy riding!

Start time: 10:00am
Start location: Donegan Park
Route Map: Wicklow Beach and Back route map here
Ride Leader: To be determined (Anyone want to volunteer?)

Please indicate if you are planning to ride in the morning so we can anticipate numbers.

EASY RIDE: Wednesday June 13, 7:00pm

We did a few hills on the last ride and it was a lot of fun. Baby hills, but they still qualify. Not sure where this ride will go…..why not make a comment and mention whether you want to do a few more hills, or go further & faster, or do a little in-town riding?

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre

Ride Leader: Need a volunteer
Route: To be determined

EASY RIDE: Monday June 11, 7:00pm

So, the last evening ride didn’t happen because of the nasty weather on the radar, the weather warning etc. and not a single drop of rain fell—so this ride is going to happen no matter what! We have a new starting location for this ride, the Arena on Furnace St.  The route will take in a little in-town riding and then head up north through Cornish Hollow Rd. Be sure to bring an ice-cold drink with you, it’s going to be hot!

Start time: 7:00pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre

Ride Leader: Anita Macklin
Route: To be determined
