Sunday Ride (Approx. 50k) Start time: 10:00am

Although not indicated on the map, there are plenty of opportunities for shortening this route as desired. Consistent with the Monday/Wednesday rides we will send people out in packs of 6–8 people. The first pack will be the Non-stoppers, the last pack will be Scenic-Leisurely, and the packs in the middle will be Regular Groups.

We’ll need pack leaders—If you are able to keep a reasonably consistent pace and maintain a safe distance from the pack in front, feel free to volunteer to be a pack leader. We’ll need about 4. (One for Non-stoppers, one for Leisurely and the others for Regular groups)

Start time: 10:00am
Start location: Donegan Park
Route Map: Shelter Valley Route Map here
Pack Leaders:

This week as a trial, we’re going to try a new start time for the Thursday ride. We’ll leave at 3:30 and ride the Shelter Valley route, starting and ending at St. Mary’s School. The entire route would be 50k, but there are options for making it shorter if necessary.

Note that the map indicates we start at Donegan Park, but we will start at St. Mary’s School and modify the route accordingly.

Start time: 3:30pm
Start location: St. Mary’s School

Ride Leader: Jen Poole

School should be out by that time, but there are events happening at the school. Therefore, we will park in the south parking lot, leave the car behind and ride your bike up to the North parking lot where we will depart.

EASY RIDE: Wednesday June 6, 7:00pm

For this ride we will start from a new location that we’ve never started from before. The route will provide a little in-town riding as well as take us north up to those lovely Northumberland Hills that we all love. But don’t worry, we’ll only take the easy roads.

Lights for “Seeing” and lights to “Be Seen” We talked about the difference at last night’s ride,  then this morning after checking the Mountain Equipment Co-op site this morning I noticed an great deal on a Light & Motion Stella 300 for $149 (37% off) headlight. You can ride in total darkness and light up the whole lane with this baby. MEC is a great source for bike accessories and they offer free shipping on this item.

There are also “Planet Bike” Front lights (to be seen) and “Planet Bike” Rear lights both for $8.25  each available at MEC. Their website indicates FREE SHIPPING till June 5 (today).
