The Wicklow Way Ride was a lot of fun! A whole pack of fabulous NHCC’ers took part and by all accounts it was a most enjoyable tour. It was great to see a lot of new members out for the ride.

Let’s go for a bike ride! The Port Hope ride is suitable for most riders, riding at a pace that’s comfortable for all while we chit chat and enjoy the scenery. No lightning speed! We can’t eliminate hills, however we take them easy. Meet at the the corner of Toronto Rd. and Ridout near the Winchester Arms parking lot if you want to make the ride a little easier since we head uphill right from the start at Town Hall. But for the rest of us, the starting point is the usual, Town Hall.
Start time: 6:30pm
Start location: Port Hope Town Hall
Route: approximately 30km
Level of difficulty: varied
Ride Leader: Pamela Tate
Let Pam and others know you are riding by leaving a comment. It helps with anticipating route and speed as well as lets others know there might be someone riding at their pace.
Oh yeeeeeeaaaahh! It’s Ice Cream ride time (weather permitting of course). So far the weather is looking just about perfect! with 25c and sunshine in the forecast. Bring a couple of bucks with you on this ride, cuz we will be stopping at the ice cream parlour. It will feel positively summer-ish. 🙂
Start time: 6:30pm
Start location: parking lot behind the Dutch Oven

This is a special Bike Week ride, where we ride out along the Waterfront Trail eastbound toward Wickow Way Farm. When we arrive at the farm we will do a tour of the farm, and have a chance to sample and buy some goodies. Non-club members are also invited to join in on the ride as guests, free of charge. It’s an easy 35km ride round-trip and suitable for most levels. If you are planning to ride, please RSVP by leaving a comment so that we can notify the farm of how many people to expect.
After the farm tour, if riders want to go further, they can continue along the Waterfront Trail to Colborne and the great beyond. The remaining folks will ride back to Cobourg.
Start time: 10:00am
Start location: Donegan Park
Route: Waterfront Trail Eastbound
Level of difficulty: All levels
We will travel in a couple of different groups according to speed and ability. It’s going to be a most fabulous sunshiny day, so we hope to see a lot of people out for this ride!

| Sunday, June 29th: 106km ride around Rice Lake, the second in our long-weekend century ride series. |
This is a special Bike Week ride that the NHCC is hosting. Cobourg cyclists meet and depart from park on Carlisle St., Port Hope cyclists meet and depart from Port Hope Town Hall. We ride toward each others town, then “Meet and Greet” at Burnham Family Market and then ride together. Like friends do!
This will be an easy ride, suitable for hybrids, mountain bikes, road bikes, etc. and we are hoping the riders from all levels will participate.
Start time: 6:30pm
Start location (Port Hope): Port Hope Town Hall
Start location (Cobourg): The park on Carlisle, between Westwood and Ewing
This ride is weather-dependent, so please monitor the website.
This is the first of two rides that are happening on Thursday, one in the morning and one in the evening (the evening one is much shorter). Despite the route map saying it starts at the Marina, the official start point will be at Donegan Park. Since it’s Bike Week, this ride is being offered by the NHCC to guests free of charge so that they can ride with us and see what it’s like to be part of a bike club. Guests however, will be required to sign a waiver.
We anticipate this ride will be averaging about 22km per hour and most suited for experienced riders with road-bikes.
Start time: 10am
Start Location: Donegan Park
Route map: Rice Lake Ramble Route (61k)
Level of difficulty: 3 or 4
Please comment below if you are riding so others can plan to keep you company!
We will meet and go out for a 30km (give or take a little) and we won’t go too fast, or tackle too many crazy hills. We modify the ride somewhat to suit the ability of the riders who participate. If you want to skip the uphill at the start of the ride, meet at the top of town just at the corner of Toronto Rd. and Ridout near the Winchester Arms parking lot. Your ride will be a little shorter, but you will miss that hill! Otherwise, the start location remains the Town Hall.
Start time: 6:30pm
Start location: Port Hope Town Hall
Route: approximately 30km
Level of difficulty: varies according to participation

Reminder: there will be no safety course this Tuesday. The course resumes next Tuesday, 10th.
This ride starts at the industrial park on Willmott Street and then we will head east on Highway #2. There are few hills in this ride but we are going to take it sloooooow and learn some strategies to get up those hills. The scenery outside of town makes the climb worth it.
Next week we will do this ride in reverse (same elevation longer climbs) and for those that are a little more adventurous I will add an optional hill climb (Hill 60).
Start time: 6:30pm
Start location: Parking lot industrial park east end. Willmott and Dodge streets.

Difficulty: Level 2 (+ a smidgen)
