Thursday August 23rd: Ride to Harwood and Back

There have been some fairly long distance rides lately, so we’ll make this one a little shorter and hopefully a little easier for some. It’s about 67 km if you start and finish at Donegan Park, and only 41km if you start at the corner of Cornish Hollow and Dale Rd. It’s a familiar route for most of us, but it is a nice one. If you are starting at Dale Rd. for the 41km route, get there a little early and plan to be ready to roll, (right beside the cemetery), when the 67k group rolls on through.

Start time & location:
9:00am (Donegan Park)
9:20 (Corner of Cornish Hollow and Dale Rd. by the cemetery)

RIDE in Port Hope—Tuesday August 21st Easy Ride (6:30pm)

The Port Hope ride is still on! Usually the Port Hope group does about 25km or so, and you can make it longer by starting in Cobourg but you definitely need to have your lights on your bike if you do so.  No report of the Evil Bird, so you’re pretty safe to ride…..

If you wish to ride over there from Cobourg, meet at Canadian Tire at 6:00.

Start time: 6:30 pm (6:00 from Canadian Tire Cobourg)
Start location: Port Hope Town Hall
Ride leader: George or Pam (To be determined)

EASY RIDE: Monday August 20th, 6:30pm

The days are becoming shorter which is a sure sign that summer is passing by.  Just in case you are wondering, the evening rides continue until daylight savings time ends. We move the start time a little earlier every couple of weeks to allow a suitable amount of time for a ride.

Start time: 6:30pm
Location: Cobourg Memorial Rink and Recreation Centre on Furnace St.
Route Map: “Easy Route 2” 24 or 32 km route map here
Ride Leader: Volunteer Needed

Be sure to bring your headlights for the fronts of your bikes and flashing red ones for the backs. As the days get shorter, these are essential items to have on your bikes in the evening.
