THE WHEELY FUN CLUB NEWS!

Pre-season rides on Sunday April 24 (varied start times)

We are looking at 21°c making for a glorious day for a pre-season ride on Sunday.  We have a Level 2 and a Level 3 ride going out, so take your pick!

Why do we ask for an RSVP? By RSVPing with your Cycle Club account, the Ride Planner is able to keep participants informed of ride changes, apply COVID screening questions, discuss topics related to the ride, and have an expectation of how many to expect. You too will be able to see who will be riding so that you can also plan!

Level 2

Date: Sunday April 24
Start time: 10:00am
Ride planner: Dennis Benson
Start location: Donegan Park, D’Arcy St. in Cobourg
Distance/Time: 1-1.5 hour (approx)
Type of Ride: Group
Pace: (Level 2) Leisurely – Speeds approximately 18-22 kph
This ride will head out toward Archers Road and then to Nuwautin Sanctuary.  It’s a no-drop ride which means that nobody will be left behind.  The primary purpose is just to get the legs spinning & the smiles happening.

Level 3

Date: Sunday April 24
Start time: 2:00pm
Ride planner: Helmut Bock
Start location: Cobourg Memorial Rink & Recreation Center, 206 Furnace St, Cobourg, ON K9A 2G1, Canada
Distance/Time: 28km
Type of Ride: Group
Pace: (Level 3) Moderate – Speeds approximately 22-24 kph
It’s another opportunity to get your bum accustomed to the saddle before the rides start getting longer (when the regular season starts).  We’ll do the simple Cobourg North route from Furnace St to Baltimore and back on Cornish Hollows and Ontario St. Pace will be Level 3+ ie more than 20 kph. Some hills included.

RSVP: Please use your Cycle Club Account to indicate that you’ll ride.
