Tues Aug 27, Level2 Ride: Westwood Cobourg

****Note New 6pm Start Times****

Just a reminder that Level 2’s Tuesday’s rides are a “Steady” Ride (that is, lower end of the average speed and distance, more moderate hills with more frequent stops).

We will start at Westwood Park parking lot and head out west up Theatre Rd and further west to Hamilton Rd. North to Dale, east until Theatre Rd again and loop back the way we came. At Telephone Road the second time we will take the pulse of the group and add a bit of kilometer-age (or not). This is an undulating but manageable course. We will take frequent stops to catch our breath and socialize. Please chime in using the comment button so we can know to expect you! Don’t forget water, helmets and lights!

Start Time: 6:00 pm
Ride Leader: Geoffrey Honey
Start Location: Westwood Park parking lot, Carlisle St, between Ewing and Westwood.

Thurs Aug 29, Level2 Ride:King’s Field Port Hope

Pam Tait will be leading the Thurs “Training Ride”= fewer stops, more hills and building to L3. Hereis her description:

Description: We are going to do the same loop as last time BUT there will be an added loop to extend the distance by about 10km. I know that sounds like a lot but at least half of it is pretty flat – absolutely no big hills – and the other half we’ll be coasting downhill. It won’t be that big a deal. Honestly. So come on out if you want to push yourself just a bit more (because it IS getting to the end of the season and we’re all in better shape than we were a short few weeks ago). We will stop as needed to hydrate and recover the will to live. ALSO…there will be a surprise at the end of the ride which will definitely make it all worthwhile. Enough said. :D”

Ride Leader: Pam Tait

Start Time: 6pm

Start Location: King’s Field Port Hope, Victoria St

ALL LEVELS RIDE & SOCIAL: Wednesday, August 21st

It’s time for another All Levels Ride and Social!  We will start and end our ride at The Mill Restaurant & Pub on Ontario Street in Cobourg.  The route will be an out and back .  We will ride for 45 minutes (or less depending on your Level) and then turn around and head back the same way.  Everyone will finish around the same time for the optional social part.  We will head into The Mill and relax on the pub patio for drinks, food and social time.  Please comment if you are riding or socializing so that we can let the venue know.  Hope to see a great turn out!

Additional info about our all levels ride – there will be 4 designated pace-setters among the group, riding at each of the NHCC defined Levels (1-4). Just pick the level you want to try, and follow that pace setter to see what riding at that level really feels like. If you change your mind mid-ride, no problem, just slow down and wait for a group that’s riding at the speed you like. The All Levels Ride is ideal if you think you’d like to feel what the other levels are like without committing.

Time: 6:00–7:30pm (ride) 7:30-9:00pm (social)
Route Map: Link to Ride with GPS
Start location: The Mill Restaurant, Cobourg.
PLEASE NOTE – RAIN DATE WILL BE THURSDAY, AUGUST 22nd
