This Sunday’s ride will be the same as Thursday’s. This route, borrowed from the Freewheelers, has three different distance options. (31, 36, and 51km)

Can-Bike Instructor Course looking for candidates

The Northumberland Safety Committee has approved funding for certifying Can-Bike Instructors and will be delivered in two phases.

These courses will be conducted in Cobourg starting with phase one this summer. Dates July 20,21,22. This course has openings for eight candidates who can commit to phase 1 and 2 and eventually to offering Can Bike courses in Northumberland county to promote safe and enjoyable riding to others.

There are currently two spaces open. Please contact Paul Mills if you are interested.

Monday, June 27: Evening Novice Ride (7:00pm)

On the last Monday night ride we had 10 riders out and had a great trip throughout town, enjoying a leisurely, easy-paced ride. This Monday we’re planning more of the same but with a stop at the Ice Cream parlour down by the pier for a little social time. (So don’t forget to bring a couple of toonies with you)

Ride: Sunday June 26: “Butter Tart Run” 10am

Butter Tarts in Harwood! The Thursday ride goes there and so does this Sunday’s. We’ll start at The Mill and head up toward Harwood where we’ll take a break at the local store where they have awesome butter tarts and we can re-load our water bottles at the spring.

The distance will be 56km. There is a shortcut option that will add up to only 17km however you’ll miss the butter tarts!

Ride: Thursday June 23: “Butter Tart Run” 10am

Butter Tarts in Harwood! That’s where we’re going. We’ll start at The Mill and head up toward Harwood where we’ll take a break at the local store. They have awesome butter tarts so be sure to bring a little moolah with you. The estimated long distance will be about 60km. There will also be options for a shorter route if desired. However, if you take the short route you’ll miss the butter tarts!
