Sunday September 14: Ride from Donegan Park 10am

The weather should be nicer, but a bit cool tomorrow so we might try this route that takes us up to Shelter Valley Road. We don’t yet have a report about road conditions on Massey, so it’s possible that an alternative may be required after we go out and do the test drive in the car. Therefore, don’t be printing out the route map till morning time, because it might just change… But in the meantime:

Start time: 10am
Start location: Donegan Park
Route map: Printable route map here, or view it on Ride with GPS

*Note: (Road report), We have driven the route and all roads are reasonable to ride. The gravel on Massey Rd. has been packed down enough, but please exercise caution  near the edges, for 3km until you reach St. Annes.

Short notice, we know…but can ya let others know if you plan to ride? Just press the little ole “Comment” button and say “I’m riding!”.  🙂

Todays Ride Cancelled

CANCELLATION: Due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances, the out of town ride planned for today is being postponed to a different day and time. Stay home, stay warm, and stay dry.

Monday Sept. 15: Level 1 ride at 6:00

The sun officially sets at 7:22pm this evening, so lights will be required for all those riding, as of 6:52pm. We are going to start in our downtown location, the parking lot behind the Dutch Oven.

Start time: 6:00pm
Start location: The parking lot behind the Dutch Oven
Ride leader: Maria Garrett

NHCC Jerseys are in!

For those who have patiently waited for their jersey, they have now arrived. If you ordered a jersey, you can pick it up from Anita’s house, but you probably should drop her a line first to make sure she’ll be there. Email her now.

Wednesday Sept. 10: Port Hope Ride at 6:00

Ride cancelled
We have a new start location this time, affording the opportunity to get out onto some new roads. It sounds like rain and/or thunderstorms are forecast for the evening but hopefully they’ll take place after the ride.

Start time: 6:00pm
Start location: Hope Township Municipal Offices, lower parking lot
Ride Leader: Pamela Tate

Please leave a comment. Pam loves to know who she will have to keep up with!

Saturday September 13th: Out of town ride for Levels 3++ and 4

POSTPONED. Sorry folks. We will do it another day.
To change things up, we’re having a ride on roads we don’t typically take on a day we don’t typically ride. The Trent Hills/Trenton Tour is a hilly 90km tour passing by places you may have never visited (or heard of!) before: Castleton, Morganston, Warkworth, Codrington, Wooler, Trenton, and Brighton. Bring a snack and little cash in case you need to replenish your fluids or fuel at some of the convenience stores we’ll pass along the way.

Date: SATURDAY, September 13th
Start time: 10:00am
Level of Difficulty: Level 3++/Level 4 ride
Start location: Northumberland Hills Public School parking lot, 2246 Spring Street, Castleton
Ride leader: Maria Garrett

Route map: Still to come

Please leave a comment to let Maria know that you plan to ride. She’s got a great route planned and hopefully with a Saturday start we’ll see a fabulous group turnout.

Monday Sept. 8: Level 1 Ride at 6:00

Note the start time is 6:00pm

The sun officially sets at 7:35 this evening, so we will start at 6:00pm. Nothing but a great forecast ahead, so hopefully everyone can make it out.

Start time: 6:00pm
Start location: The park on Carlisle at Westwood
Ride leader: Maria Garrett

Sunday September 7: Level 3 and 4 ride, 10am

Note the new start time: 10am

All the fresh gravel on local roads make it challenging to find a good route these days! There are a few hills on this one including Bickle Hill at the end of it, but you can always just choose to skip that part and blow right by it, crossing Dale road and returning to town via the Danforth. There are two distances to choose from. Essentially, we head along the Lakeshore, travel north to the 7th line then over to Bewdley (or not, if you so choose) then back to Cobourg.

Start time: 10am
Start location: The park on Carlisle between Westwood and Ewing
Route map (62k): Printable route map here or view it on Ride with GPS
Route map (72k): Printable route map to come, or View it on Ride with GPS

So….you riding? Let us know.
