Spring is right around the corner so we might as well get busy preparing for the sunny cycling weather.  We know there are a number of folks just within the NHCC circle who are looking to buy/sell/trade/upgrade their bikes.  As a service to our members, from now until our official season starts we’ll help you out. Send us some pictures and information about the bike(s) you are selling, we’ll post it on our website! Include pictures of the whole bike, and some closeups of the components and other details (year, model, etc.) We can include your contact information, or if you prefer, we can forward interested parties to you through our club email! Ride Leaders Meeting (Postponed till next week)

We’re postponing the meeting till next week (date and time to be determined), so you still have time to give it some thought.

The NHCC is still looking for some more help and support leading rides! You don’t need a load of experience because we have mentors who will work side-by-side with you until your confidence sets in! The more ride leaders, the more rides—so we know what fewer ride leaders means, don’t we 😉

If you haven’t submitted your name already please do so! It’s the ride leaders who will determine how many rides the NHCC will have, and when they will take place.  So, if you want to be an NHCC influencer, we’d love to have you on board!

Think you could pitch in? A little or a lot, we’ll take it! Please RSVP by either completing the form below. If unable to view form, you can email secretary@northumberlandhillscyclingclub.com to indicate you’ll come!

There is no form selected or the form was deleted.

The NHCC is looking for Ride Leaders! Meeting on Tuesday March 15, 6:30pm

We are excited about the upcoming cycling season and need volunteers to meet with us next week to help put together our 2022 Ride Calendar. The meeting will also help us determine how and when we ride, who our Ride Leaders are, and if we have enough volunteers to support separated Levels (1, 2, 3, and 4).

Date: Tuesday March 15, 2022
Time: 6:30pm
Location: 8303 Smylie Rd.

Think you could pitch in this year? A little or a lot, we’ll take it! Please RSVP by either completing the form below. If unable to view form, you can email secretary@northumberlandhillscyclingclub.com to indicate you’ll come!

How many rides per week is the NHCC considering?

The number and variety of Club rides will be directly dependent upon how many volunteers step up!

We are hoping for 3 or 4 individuals for each Ride Level that can help with planning & leading—the more, the better! We would rotate ride leaders so it doesn’t become too onerous for any one individual this season.  You don’t need to be highly skilled or experienced—just interested enough to pitch in a little.

We’re not looking for commitments to ride every single week—just some times, so others don’t have to do it every time. We have lots of routes and maps, so Ride Leaders who step forward don’t have to be responsible for all that!

Thursday Night Hike! March 3, 6:30pm

Looks like -18 for Thursday Night, so bundle up! We tend to keep a pretty brisk pace, so you’re not likely to be cold anyways.  🙂

We’ll meet downtown Cobourg again and head out to somewhere—passing by nowhere, maybe going here, maybe there, and exploring the in-between. In other words, you just never know where we’ll go but we always know it’s an adventure! We will likely do 7-10km, depending on the wishes of the group.

All members are welcome and so are Guests! If you haven’t renewed your 2022 membership, you can do it online right from the NHCC website and it’s marvellously quick and easy to do.  Guests must bring a signed Off-season waiver (available on our website).

Date: Thursday March 3, 6:30pm
Planners: Randy & Anita
Start location: Cobourg: Parking lot on Albert St. near the orthodontist office

How to RSVP (for members):

  • Log into Cycle Club either on the web, or on your mobile device and go from there. If you aren’t setup yet, head on over to the website and take a look in the right hand column and click on the “Cycle Club”.

Thursday Night Hike! Feb. 24, 6:30pm Cobourg

The weather is looking fine for Thursday night, so the hike is a go! Just like it was supposed to be last several weeks when the weather was just too darn miserable.

We’ll meet downtown Cobourg and head out somewhere… anywhere, just to get ourselves moving and be social again.  We will likely do 7-10km, depending on the wishes of the group.

All members are welcome! If you haven’t renewed your 2022 membership, you can do it online right from the NHCC website and it’s marvellously quick and easy to do.  Guests are welcome, but must bring a signed Off-season waiver (available on our website).
