Cross Country Skiing Saturday and again on Sunday!

There’s plenty of nice snow in Northumberland Forest so get the skis out! We’ll meet in the Beagle Club parking lot. We can decide then which trails to take but if people can comment on how long they hope to be out and what kind of terrain they can handle we can get some ideas going. There are often options to drop out early too.
For those who prefer to hike or snow shoe, if there is anyone who would like to lead one or the other, please let us know and we can get that going as well.

Dates: Saturday, December 17th and Sunday, December 18th
Start Time: 1:30
Meeting Location: Beagle Club parking lot
Ski Organizer: Maria Siemiaszko

Wednesday December 14: Wednesday night hike!

It’s going to be cooooold, but nothing that a few layers won’t resolve. We always see something interesting on our evening hikes. Last week we saw an enormous christmas lawn display that was mind-boggling. This week we’re going to see if we can hunt down the “vinyl record fence”. If you don’t know what the heck we mean by that, you’ll have to come out and see! Wear some footwear with treads and bring a flashlight….we might even go through the woods and there are hills and valleys.

Evening hikes are open to everyone, both members and non-members. We do ask that non-members bring a signed waiver for insurance purposes and give to Randy or Anita when we all meet. sign a waiver (it’s free!).

Start time: 6:00pm
Start location: Port Hope Town Hall parking lot
Hike leaders: Randy and Anita

Evening Hike: Wednesday Dec. 7, 6:00pm

It promises to be clear weather for the hike on Wednesday night. This time we will head along the river toward the northern end of town and see all the fabulous Christmas lights. We usually walk at a fairly brisk pace, there are usually a few hills in the mix (it is Port Hope, after all!). You’ll burn some calories for sure. Our evening hikes are open to all, members and non-members. The only thing we ask is that non-members sign a waiver (it’s free!).

For those who missed last week’s hike, there were five brave souls who came out deciding to just disregard the drizzly rain. We ventured along the beachfront with headlamps and flashlights then enjoyed a beer afterward in a little social spot downtown. Always an adventure, and plenty of conversation!
