Wednesday, November 2nd: Our LAST Short Evening Ride (5:15pm)

Yep, it’s the last one of the 2011 riding season. Last EVENING ride, that is. The clocks will turn back on the following weekend. So let’s make this ride a good one!

Being our last, it seems fitting that we waddle on into The Mill afterward for a little bit of munching, socializing, and fun. Please mention below if you are interested in going into the restaurant after the ride so that others can also plan accordingly. Hey, you can skip supper to get to the ride early, then eat afterward!

Start time: 5:15
Start location: The Mill Parking Lot
Route: Somewhere local. We’ll take a consensus from the riders who show up.

Monday, October 31st: Short Evening Ride (5:15pm)

It’s Halloweeeeeeeeeen night! And that leaves us with just two more evening rides folks, that’s all we’ve got left. (Don’t worry, there’ll still be our usual morning rides). Hey, if you wanna be in the spooky spirit, wear a fun costume for the ride.

As usual, don’t forget your lights. The ever shrinking daylight hours are forcing us to get started even earlier—if we want to get about an hour riding how about meeting at 5:15? That’ll give us enough time to get home and get ready to dish out the candy.

Start time: 5:15
Start location: The Mill Parking Lot
Route: Somewhere local. We’ll take a consensus from the riders who show up.

Sunday, October 30th: Ride to Bewdley and Back

Oops. Made a mistake and originally labelled the ride as “Thursday” when what I really meant was Sunday.

The weather so far says 10° and nothing but sunshine for Sunday’s ride. Again, this route is 54.4 km long, so if you are hoping to shorten it, please print out the map and plan on some alternative short cuts. Still not sure about the condition of Crossen Rd., and so we’ll exercise some caution there on the downhill.

For new riders who are concerned about cold weather: choose  to dress with a few layers that are quick-dry type fabrics. Avoid cotton. Microfibre fleecy shirts work well. Smart Wool socks work great too. And a light windbreaker shell jacket should keep out the breeze that you’ll inevitably create as you ride down the road at 25km per hour.  🙂

Experienced riders—if you have some cold weather riding tips to share, please feel free to do so.

Start time: 10:00am
Start location: The Mill Restaurant parking lot
Ride Leader: Anita Macklin

Please indicate that you will join us for the ride. (It helps us to know how many to expect, plus it’s fun to anticipate and get excited about seeing everyone!)

Thursday, October 27th: Ride to Bewdley and Back

It’s been a while since we cruised into Bewdley. This route is 54.4 km long, so if you are hoping to shorten it, please print out the map and plan on some alternative short cuts. We’re not sure about the condition of Crossen Rd., and it’s quite a substantial downhill so we’ll exercise some caution there. Has anyone checked it out lately?

Start location: The park on south side of Carlisle St.
Route: Local roads around town

Please indicate if you are coming so that others can plan too.

Monday, October 24th: Short Evening Ride (5:30pm)
