ALL THE WHEELY FUN CLUB NEWS!

Thursday June 30: Level 4 Ride to Harwood

The forecast shows a high of 25°C and lots of sunshine! What better way to fill your evening than with a ride to Harwood for ice-cream! Or, if that’s not your style, you could just re-load water bottles and zip back. In any case, it’s about 55k and a 6:00 start time. Please note that there is no designated ride leader for this one (cuz she’s outta town, cycling from Ottawa to Montreal!) so the group will need to just self-lead.

Start time: 6:00pm
Start location: The arena on Furnace St.
Route Map: Printable 55k map/cue sheet or link to it on Ride with GPS

Since there’s no ride leader, do leave a comment to let others know you plan to ride. It’s nice for each other to be able to anticipate how big the group might be.

Volunteers needed for Cycling Video shoot

Northumberland Tourism is doing a little video shoot and need some volunteers to be cycling stars in their video. It’s your chance at fame!

They are looking for models to cycle in three different locations (Port Hope, Rice Lake, and Grafton areas). They would like both male and females, of varying ages.

If you are interested and available sometime in July or early August and can help out with this, please contact the production coordinator Angela Johnson who will make arrangements with you.

June 28th Level 2 (maybe 2+) ride

If Hurricanes don’t prevail, we will be completing Colin’s original ride from Carlisle Park up Ont to Dale and up Mc Lelland to Bethel Grove, Jibb and back home. We will ride in two groups if we get enough chirping/ chiming in on the “comments section” as to level 2 and 2+. Please let us know which you intend to ride.  I am thinking Roberto will take the 2+ group and I (Geoffrey) will lead the second (if we don’t get waylaid by excitement like last week. Congratulations again to Roberto and Ruth-Anne on their recent marriage!

Start Time:18:00 (6pm)
Ride Leader: Roberto Almeida
Start Location: Park on Carlisle St Cobourg

Sunday June 26: Mixed Levels Ride on the Waterfront Trail Westbound

It’s a busy weekend and a lot of people are away. However, this Sunday we’ll take the Waterfront Trail westbound over to Port Hope and continue along the lakeshore turning around at any point you want. This means you can make the route long or short, it’s your choice. No route map necessary for this ride since it’s the Waterfront Trail and we are all familiar with it.

There is no designated ride leader for Sunday. Everyone is expected to travel together in groups according to pace and desired distance. Prior to departure on Sunday morning, please organize with others to establish who you will ride with.

Start time: 10:00am
Start location: King’s Field (baseball field) in Port Hope (Victoria St. just south of the lights at Toronto Rd. and Ridout St.)

Please comment below if you are coming and the approximate distance you might be interested in. Leaving a comment helps others plan accordingly.
