Here’s what the NHCC is up to!

Monday’s Workshop: Brakes & Gears—Ride Better!

If you haven’t heard already, there’s a lot of good information to scoop up at our Workshops, open to all members of the NHCC. Tomorrow night (Monday July 24th, 6:00pm-8:00pm ) is Brakes & Gears—Ride Better!  Did you know there are gear combinations that although possible, can put added strain on your chain? Do you know how to use your gears as you approach hills in order to keep your cadence rolling? Come on out to the workshop and learn how to best use your gears to make your ride easier—and better! Heck, come on out and just get a little refresher & practice! There’s still plenty of space, so be sure to sign up with your Cycle Club account.

NHCC Rides for the week of: Monday July 17 to Sunday July 23

If you haven’t come to one of the workshops, you’re missing out! Thank you to Mike and Paul who conducted the Shifting Gears workshop much to the appreciation of all in attendance. There are still two more spots for this Wednesday’s Bike Maintenance 1.0 workshop. Just like the one last week, when it’s all over with you’ll feel comfortable changing a flat tire, you’ll know how to clean & lube your chain the right way, and you’ll be able to take the wheels off your bike—front and back! And hey….flat tires happen—we just had one on this last Level 3/4 Sunday ride.

We have the Tuesday Night Ride & Porch Social at Maria’s. Bring your favourite beverage & snack & we’ll sit outside enjoying the summer evening! The rides start at her address on Shelter Valley Rd, (address provided in your Cycle Club Event calendar). On Thursday the Level 2s are heading up to do the Lang-Hastings Trail. On Sunday the Level 3/4s will be found on the fantastic Victoria Rail Trail starting in Lindsay and going to Fenelon Falls & beyond.
