REMINDER! Bike-Up Northumberland is on Saturday!

The Third Annual Home Hardware Bike Up Northumberland joint-event fundraiser ride will take place on Saturday, September 9th in support of Northumberland County’s two hospital foundations (Northumberland Hills Hospital and the Campbellford Memorial Hospital).

There will be 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100km distance options to choose from, all following the Waterfront Trail eastbound and starting at Donegan Park!

We have a good number of members representing the NHCC and it would be great if more could join us.  We will meet at Donegan Park.  If you can’t ride you can always support a rider, or volunteer.

It’s not too late. Registration is still open!! Click here to register.  Or you can register at the start of the event at the following times depending on your distance:

100K – 7:00 am, 50K – 9:00 am, 25K – 10:00 am, 10K – 10:30 am, 5K – 11:00 am

September 7, Thursday evening Level 3/4 Ride

The forecast is iffy for Thursday so we will keep our eye on the weather.  This a redo of a great ride we did back in July, but with a twist…… This time we are going to do it BACKWARDS.  Will the hills be better or worse? You be the judge.  Either way it should be a great ride.

The days are quickly getting shorter by the minute (or two) so don’t forget your lights!

Starting point: Furnace Street Arena
Time: 6:00 pm
Leader: Chris Miller
Route: Northumberland Hill Loop Backwards

Tues Sept 5 Level 2 Ride Wstwd Park Cornish Hollow

We will do the full loop, starting at Westwood Park on Carlisle St., New Amherst, Hwy 2, Theatre Rd., Dale, Danforth, Ontario, Cornish Hollow, Ball, Ferguson, Racetrack, Dale, Division, Oliver’s Lane, Lenore, Ontario St, University, Margaret, King, Westwood back to the park.

We will need to have our lights for 7:10pm (1/2 hour before sunset).

Geoffrey will have tickets to the Annual Meeting.  The AM takes place Thursday, October 19th at the Best Western and is a fun evening. Cost is $30 per person and spouses and friends are welcome.

Remember that a fully pumped tyre rolls easier. Brighter clothing is easily seen in dusk.

Please chime in with Comments if you can ride or if you can sweep. There will be lots of breaks to celebrate hill vanquishment.

Start Time: 6pm sharp!

Ride Leader: Geoffrey Honey

Start Location: Westwood Park, Carlisle St between Westwood and Ewing

Lenght: 29.99999999 Kilometres!

September 4 Monday Night Level 2/3 Ride

Cap off the Labour Day long weekend by joining us on a fun and challenging NHCC route.

We wont’t lie, there are a couple uphills but these will be balanced off by just as many fun descents.

The earlier start time (4:00) will give us plenty of time to complete the route before darkness and the expected drizzle in the evening.

That said, there will be plenty of rest stops to catch your breath and enjoy the scenery.  As always on Monday nights 2/3  no one will be dropped.

There will also be a couple turns that allow the  route to be cut shorter should anyone wish or need to head back into town earlier.

Lets have fun!!

Starting Point: Arena on Furnace Street

Time: 4:00 pm

Leader: Roberto/Allan

Route: To County Road 9 and Back
