Thursday May 19 (38 or 19km) from The Mill, 10am
Yesterday was a big washout, so we will do the ride and the optional lunch next Sunday instead. Judging from the forecast it looks like rain every day this week too!
In the meantime, this Thursday’s ride will still depart from the parking lot at The Mill (Restaurant) in Cobourg (not Donegan Park).
Start time: 10:00am
Start location: The Mill Restaurant Parking lot
Route map and directions: Click here for the route map.
Long Ride Leader: Paul Mills
Short Ride Leader: if needed, TBD
Please comment below if you are coming and whether you are interested in the short or long route.
Sunday May 22 (38 or 19km) from The Mill Restaurant, 10am
This Sunday’s ride will depart from The Mill Restaurant in Cobourg (as was the plan for last Sunday) with the option to go into the restaurant for lunch afterward.
This week’s short route (19.5km) bypasses the worst hill. Thank-you Paul, for mapping out the route.
Start time: 10:00am
Start location: The Mill Restaurant
Route map and directions: Click here for the route map.
Ride Leader: Need volunteers for both Long and Short rides.
Please comment below if you are riding and if you will join in for Lunch so that a reservation can be made. Since it’s the long weekend the restaurant could be busy on Sunday so we’ll need to know numbers—Spouses, friends, and family are more than welcome at restaurant.

Thursday May 12, (23 or 38 km) from Donegan Park, 10am (again!)
It was such a great route, we’re doing it again on Thursday morning. 38km, or a 23km short route, your choice. We all agree that the first half was a little on the hilly side, but the scenery and easier riding in the second half are well worth the effort.
Start time: 10:00am
Start location: Donegan Park
Route map and directions: Click here
Ride Leader: Paul Mills will lead the short ride. **Leader for the long ride TBD
Please comment below indicating if you plan to ride and if you are interested in either the long or the short route. (Don’t worry, you can always change your mind).
Slideshow from May 5th ride to Wicklow Beach and back
Here it is, the windy ride to Wicklow beach and back again. Nine cyclists went for the ride and had a great time!
Sunday May 8th: (38 or 23km) from Donegan Park, 10am
We’ve got a 38km route for this coming Sunday that’s got a few hills for ya. Don’t worry, it won’t kill you! And if you really think it might, we’ve got a 23km “shortcut” route that will be just fabulous too. Thanks to Brian Hedney for developing this Sunday’s route.
Start time: 10:00am
Start location: Donegan Park
Route map and directions: Click here
Ride Leader: TBA
As usual, new riders who wish to join the club can bring a completed application form, signed waiver and applicable payment to the ride and give it to a ride leader. For membership information please click here.
Please comment below indicating if you plan to ride, so that we can get an idea how many to expect. See you then!
Videos of the May 1st ride are up!
We did it! 19 people showed up for our inaugural ride as the official Northumberland Hills Cycling Club. We battled the wind, but from all accounts everyone was happy. We had two helmet/bike cams rolling, as well as some still photography all of which have been made into two really fun videos. Check out the first two on our video page and see today’s bike ride from a new perspective.
Thursday May 5th, 37km ride, Donegan Park, 10am
We’re planning a 37.5km route that’s good and flat (meaning easy……sort of). The ride will start in town at Donegan Park, head east toward Wicklow Beach and then return. It’s an east/west route which usually means that wind could possibly be a factor. Please check wind conditions before heading out.
Also, NHCC is still taking new memberships. New riders who wish to join the club can bring a completed application form, signed waiver and applicable payment to the ride and give it to a ride leader. For membership information please click here.
